I'm wondering if I am the only one who has had this said to them, or do interviewers say it all they time.
I have been to two job interviews in the past two weeks, in which the interviewer ended by telling me "We will definetly call you, no matter what we decide." I.e., they were going to call me to tell me that I did get the job, or if I hadn't/
Lo and behold, I have not heard from either! I think it is safe to say I did not get either job, but why do they say they will call me either way!?!? It is very annoying, especially when they don't follow through.
All they have to say is something like, "We'll be making a desicion soon, and you'll hear from us." And if they don't want to hire me, they scould just send me some impersonal form letter telling me so!
And, in both cases, they gave me a time frame! The first interview was on a Wednesday for a 1st grade teaching position, and the principal, who interviewed me, said I would hear from him by that Friday. The other was for a volunteer coordinator for an elem. school, and the assistant principal interviewed me. It was Monday, she said she would get with me by Friday.
I am just annoyed that they tell me they are going to call me either way, and then don't. Very unprofessional. They could just not say it. Do many places do this?
