Why do they put children's Christmas specials on at 8:30 on a school night?!

That seems to be a funky thing (to me, at least...normal for you of course) in the middle of the country. By the time things air on the west coast, it's at the time it was shown on the east coast...so Prep/Landing was on at 8:30 our time.

My brother does own some Tivo units, but he uses his PS2 as his main DVR.

We homeschool and I'm at home, and DS's bedtime starts at 9, so later shows aren't a problem for us at all. We also have DVR service with our digital cable.

But we turned off Charlie Brown last night b/c it was awful! I used to enjoy those shows? Ugh! Even my son was bothered by Charlie's mood.

Networks run things twice-once for the east, central, mountain time and then again for west and further west times.

Just wanted to let everyone know that Prep & Landing (as well as A Charlie Brown Christmas) is now on Hulu (www.hulu.com). That's where I go to watch the TV shows I've missed. Usually shows get posted on there a day after airing on TV.
