Why do puppies like toes so much?

I think they do it, because puppies enjoy destroying socks. It is as though a dog's main goal in life is to chew up as many socks as possible before they turn 2. Maybe it's some sort of doggie life passage that we humans just don't get. SO I think they like toes because that is where the socks (and shoes) usually are.

Maybe the puppies and the dryers are in cahoots to get rid of those pesky socks.
