Why do men like long hair on women and daughters?

OP, I addressed it because it is such a huge pet peeve of mine.

Some little girls do not want anything done to their hair--not even combed out!

I will say that my dd (5) does not like anything done with her hair. no hair ties, no bows, barrettes, headbands...nothing. i do brush it and put some product in it but it is wavy and she looks like a wild woman in no time. for schools i make her put it up, every day it is in some sort of ponytail or braid, but as soon as she gets out of school she takes it right out. if she doesn't fight me during the week while i put it up i let her leave it down on the weekends. i figure this isn't something i am willing to keep fighting over with her. it makes me sad though because i used to do the cutest things with my oldest dd's hair. i saved all the barrettes and everything. oh well.

as for women with long hair, mine is just an inch or so about my bra strap and i have kept it that length for a few years now. when i met my ex-dh it was really long, almost to my butt. he loved it and always said i better never cut it. until we moved in together and saw that my hair got everywhere! when i cut it a few months after that he was fine with it and never said anything about long vs. short again....lol

Because they're sexist pigs:confused3

Sorry, I know that's not the polite thing to say, but honestly, what kind of jerk wouldn't speak to their wife for a week because they didn't "approve" of how short she got it cut. Or what parent would make their child grow their hair out to their butt??? What a bunch of close-minded idiots.:sad2:

Yeah haha.

My boyfriend of three years just told me he prefers short hair. I had super long hair for like.. 2.5 years of us dating and before that, as long as I e known him! Haha, I did cut it short for fun just a month ago though :) he likes either, and isn't going to tell me to do one or the other

I have had long hair forever. 4 weeks ago I cut mid of the back hair to shorter then my husbands. I asked him first and he said why. Answer was im tired if it. let my gf and dd pick the style and donate it to locks of love.

It feels so freeing to not have all that hair.

Hubby wasn't sure for first couple of days, then out of the blue he said it looks sexy and he doesn't want me to ever grow it out again. Which I don't think I will.

Will he not love her when she is old and gray and gravity has its way. I feel sorry for woman that marry sssssss like that.

So, the question is - did everyone with short hair the first go around have enough time to grow it out by now?

I just prefer long hair. Thankfully my DW prefers it longer too. She tried it short once but hated it. I only know a couple of women who can pull off short hair.

Are you kidding me? You ask the question twice? The OP said what it was in the third post!!!!! Do you not read the first few posts at least?

right now, my hair is the longest it's been since college. it's just past my shoulders. i've had it super short (like, a 2" long pixie). DH didn't like it like that, but never told me to grow it out. he prefers it long. and now that i have it long, it's easier because i can pull it back in a ponytail or bun (versus having to wash it every day).

with my daughter, he prefers hers chin-length, but i prefer it long (she has beautiful, thick, wavy hair). she keeps it long though, because she won't do anything other than pull it into a low ponytail every day.

(i fell for the zombie post too. oh well.)

Long hair a pain in the butt? I always found short hair to be that, always having to get it cut never being able to do much with it. I decided many years ago to grow it long and found it so much easier to keep it like that, though I have had people suggesting I donate it its not going to happen.

Same here, I cut my hair above the shoulders twice in my life, and found that the styling took longer for the most part. With long hair, I can do braids and buns in a few minutes and be on my way
but I get that it's a personal thing, especially if you're insistent on keeping your hair down most of the time

Taylor Swift looks so absolutely hideous with bangs it ought to be criminal. Is there not anyone around her who can tell her the difference in her looks with and without bangs is the difference between night and day?
