Why Disassociate Resort Reservation from ADR???

When I was making my ADRs, there was an option to disassociate my resort reservation from my ADRs. My first question is - what exactly does that mean. Secondly - what are the pros and cons of doing that?

If you are staying on site you can make ADR at day 90 + 10 days of your stay, if you disassociate your reservation you can only book for the 1 day, the cons of this would be you could miss getting reservations at some of your preferred resturants

The only reason I can think of that someone might use a disassociate feature is if they are doing a split stay with part of their stay off property. The system may not allow you to make an ADR outside of your on property reservation dates, so if you were staying off property for part of the trip, you'd have to make those ADR's without your room reservation.

If your whole trip was off property, you wouldn't enter a reservation number anyway.

we are doing a split stay onproperty and still had to go online twice. could not go past the first night before moving the next morning.

The only good reasons to associate your ADR with your resort reservation in the first place are if you are trying to book 90 + 10 (soon to be 180 + 10) or if you want to book a reservation that requires prepayment and you're on the dining plan.

If you aren't trying to do one of the above,there is no need to associate restaurant and resort reservations.
