I tried last night to bank points on line, and it said now you have to call MS to bank...darn! I thought that would be so much easier? Is it temporary?

There are bugs in the online programming.

I don't think that I have ever seen a company with 32 billion dollars in revenue have so many problems with their website. What gives? :confused3

I have to agree, they seem technologically way behind the times. I wish we could see availability on-line, change requests, etc.

I agree, I like everything about DVC except the website, which is one of the worst I have ever used.

They need to get someone sharper than Donald and Goofy to write their code!!!:lmao: :lmao:

In this day of outsourcing, i am willing to bet that goofy, mickey and every other cast member has very little to do with the web site.

I would check to see if Bugs or Mr. Fudd were the low bidders on managing Disney's Web Site. ;)

Also remember that whille Disney as a whole has $32B in revenue, that the DVC MS website does not have access to those funds...it is paid for by our dues.

That's what one would believe. I have had hints from CMs that that is not necessarily so. I was also told that DVC makes a lot of money for Disney. The profit doesn't just fund the DVC. SSR has already been paid off and I don't see their dues going down.

The dues pay for the maintenance of the resort, DVC does not pay for that. The profits from the sale of points is DVC's to keep.

As DebbieB said, the initial sales price you pay is what pays for resort construction and profit for Disney. The annual dues pays for resort maintenance, resort operations, Member Services and associated management. In other words, anything that serves the members, like the member website, is paid for by dues, not Disney. Disney also gets some annual profit from the maintenance fees...but that is "profit" free and clear, not for use for DVC website.

Looks like we will have a lot to talk about at the owners meeting in December.

There's an owners meeting?

what gets discussed there?

i thought DVC was just another part of Disney - just like their parks, resorts, studio, merchandising etc. everything is under Disney - so why wouldn't they make sure everything is up to Disney standards?

DVC is Disney Vacation Club - it bares the Disney name - it should receive just as much attention and topnotch planning and care as the rest of the company

Yea... it's barely above paper & pencils technology, though not as reliable as p&p.

There is not an "Owners Meeting" there is required by law to be an annual association meeting. Owners do not have voting rights, the meetings, so far, have been scripted. They are informative, but pretty "dry" as they meet the legal p & q's as set forth by law. After the actual meeting, there has been some Q & A between the audience and the board, but it limited as far as time constraints.

This year, rather than one meeting for each resort, they are combining everything into a single meeting. I would surmise that there wil probably be even a longer scripted sequence as they hit upon resort specifics and less Q & A time.

As are the thousands of unnecessary phone calls that are made to MS each day that could be handled by an efficient web site. The lack of a decent web site with reservation capabilities costs us as members. I think we should make reservations on the web be the norm and charge owners $5 for making reservations over the phone... JMHO...

OK, I'll bring the cameras and recording equipment. You paint the signs and organize the members. It's about time that we be heard.
:disrocks:

Uhh..the time to have "been heard" was before you signed your documents. You agreed to the terms when you purchased, didn't you? We all agreed that we would basically not have a vote, and DVC could set/change most of the "rules" as they see fit. It's right there in the POS. I have no problem with trying to control "commercial renting."
