We were at UOR March 4-12. This was the second trip for DH and I, but the Curious George area was closed last year when we went. We took two kids with us this time and they saw the Curious George area and wanted to check it out. We all totally got sucked in to the Ball Factory and were in there like 45 minutes. They brought it up several times, and we went back on 2 other days. They had a total blast in there!! I had no idea it was even there. I think it was their second favorite thing at UOR after Harry Potter. They loved Camp Jurassic, too. It is very cool and another thing I didn't even know was there.
Anyway, my kids LOVED those areas, and if you're wondering how old my kids are--they are 15 and 21. LOL.

What is it?
I’ve been to universal twice, but I didn’t know about this.

There is a Curious George Goes to Town play area next to the Woody Woodpecker roller coaster. The part that is easily visible is lots of water play. Like seriously if you're walking through there, watch it! You can get totally doused by small children.
Anyway, if you keep going to the back, there's a large structure called the Ball Factory. It is full of foam balls that you can put into various things for them to shoot out or whatever. There is a 2nd level where there are ball guns. Most of them, you put in a ball and push the button to shoot it. There are a few "automatic" ones. There are bags that you can fill with balls, then you put them in the hopper and go to town. My kids had such fun raining down balls on unsuspecting people below. LOL. Also sometimes I would go down there and taunt them. Ah, good times.

If Camp Jurassic was a stand alone attraction separate from Universal, I would absolutely pay to spend a day playing there. It's awesome! Haven't done Curious George though, :)
