I am so bummed mickeys house is gone! Haven't been here in 10 years and my 5 year old would've loved it! That's such a shame!!

Toontown (where Mickey and Minnie's houses were) was removed to make way for Storybook Circus, part of New Fantasyland. I was sad to see them go as well; I have good memories of visiting when I was 10 and 12 years old, and never got a chance to go back before they were demolished. But Storybook Circus is a great addition and is wonderfully themed. I'll bet your 5-year-old will enjoy it :goodvibes

I ask myself that question every time I look at the new FantasyLand.. :-(

Mickey house is gone b/c they needed the room for the new stuff in fantasy land ..

He didn't really to be honest. I think he was looking for more of the classic characters. I feel a little negative saying that I felt something missing today at magic kingdom that I had felt in my previous visits. My first visit when I was 16 and last at 25! Not sure if it was the crowd volume or that all the rides are starting to seem the same?? I could find a roller coaster and flying elephants at my area amusement park, but not mickeys house!!!! It is definitely a memory of mine as well, even at 16!

At least the little ones will still have lots of opportunities to visit with Mickey and Minnie. And they aren't homeless. They're living the good life over in Golden Oak when they're finished work for the day.

how nice it would have been if it could have been moved or somehow interior pieces
been auctioned off When the individual park kennels closed I was hoping the doghouse that had been outside MKs kennel or the cute walking dog rules sign with Pluto on it could
be auctioned wish Disney still had the auctions on eBay

I was wondering if anyone else was sad to see Toontown go. We are from the west coast and my preschoolers love Toontown in Disneyland. They can spend hours there! We went to the World for the first time in February and my kids kept asking where Goofy's house was and if they could go to Minnie's place. New Fantasyland looks like it will be visually stunning when it's done, but for a three year old there's no replacement for pulling on a door marked "danger, explosives" and hearing the booms inside, or playing a piano that makes animal sounds, or poking through Minnies fridge. But at least it makes for another good excuse to get to both parks!

I, too am sad that they seemed to have pushed Mickey aside to make room for princesses. I'm excited about seeing new fantasyland, but it seems they could have found SOME way to leave his house intact. Mickey is THE symbol of Disney!!

For some strange reason I thought they kept Mickey & Minnie's houses and moved them! I am SHOCKED and totally saddened to hear they are gone! My kids LOVED them even though they had been through them so many times, my daughter LOVED Minnie when she was about 5ish and will be totally heartbroken. I am actually tempted to maybe not even go to that area of the park on our next visit, they are older now and the princesses are not their thing-goodness, I am shocked!

Yes, MICKEY is the symbol of Disney, not his house. And Mickey hasn't been pushed aside- He's got top billing at the front of the park now, not at the very back.

Where could they have moved them to and still fit into the surrounding themes? You would boycot the whole FLE just because they closed ToonTown years ago? You do know that you can see Mickey and Minnie in multiple venues all over WDW, including the MK, right? Minnie still meets in the new Storybook Circus area. You're content to skip the whole circus area, the Little Mermaid ride, Belle's cottage, the (still to open) 7 Dwarfs mine train ride because they demolished a couple of plastic houses that usually had insanely long queues?

Different strokes and all that, but really? I just don't get the angst.

I loved Toontown too, so sad it is gone. I have fond memories of being there and at the farm Minnie Moo had just given birth to an adorable wee calf! :)

You are upset that something that your five year old has never seen isn't there anymore? What about the things that ARE there? Why not focus on that? When I had an accident and couldn't go on thrill rides, I just thought about that I *could* do. If an attraction goes away or is down when I'm there, I just continue on with what *is* there.

I always thought it was weird that they had houses at WDW. Their "home" is Disneyland, and they only "visit" WDW :)

you can see in the wait times it is not nearly as popular anymore....

The reason they moved it and put in another Dumbo is to REDUCE wait times. There were too many complaints about long waits.

I think storybook circus replaced toon town...and The rest is new land...so to be fair we traded Mickey and Minnie for the new dumbo and Pete's sideshow and to be honest I am not sure it was that much of an upgrade.

The theming of the circus is awesome...but it is centered on dumbo...and that ride lost something for me when they moved it there...you can see in the wait times it is not nearly as popular anymore....the view was what made that ride so wonderful!

Yes...I realize that...but even when only one dumbo is operating it is like 5-10 minutes at best. At least when I was watching it and there in the late fall.

The new area is cute but really only good for a quick walkthru unless you have small children. We enjoyed visiting the two houses and really see little reason to go back there now.
