Why did Disney call me today?

I was just checking my caller ID and I see a # from Florida. It's 407-354-2700. No message. We are leaving in 10 days so that makes me a little nervous.

I think it really is Disney because we won a trip and the lady who wrote to us about that has almost the same number except for the last 2 numbers.

I would call them but I feel stupid because I'm not sure why they would be calling or for which trip they would be calling. Hopefully we are all set for our upcoming trip and since we used a TA, would they call us directly?

If it's about the trip in November, the only thing we are waiting for is airline tickets and the lady always left a message before.

Anyone else get any weird calls from Florida lately?

Maybe one of your dinner reservations has changed...the rennovations on Teppenyaki restaurant have been delayed/changed and now a bunch of us have been kicked out of our existing reservation...well, that is one example! Maybe they are upgrading your room because of availability!!?? Call them, I wouldnot worry about looking stupid!!! Just do it! There's no harm in checking w/ them! Good Luck!

I figured it is so late I would get some kind of recording or voicemail and at least see what department the number was from if it was Disney. There was a recording, it said: "You have reached a non-working number."

I googled the number it seems like the people on a few different links cannot make up their mind if it's legit or not. Some are saying yes, others are not sure, and some don't believe it at all. Seems to be inconsistency with the replies. Most of the people, however, are those who never actually answered the phone when the call came...they just tried to call back and either the call wasn't picked up or they couldn't get through. Those who actually did answer the phone when that number called said that it was about being offered a promotion for a future trip during specific dates.

I called the number back and it said non working. Then I called Reservation and was put transferred to Guest relations. They said it was their number but they didn't know what the call was for. Told me my reservations were fine...

It was probably to remind you to make dining reservations. Yes I realize its only 10 days from now. but others have gotten the same call within the two weeks before they left, which made them chuckle because let's face it, we're DISer's...our ressies are 5 1/2 months old!

I got a call about a week and a half from that number and I spoke to a CM who was just confirming my reservation.

and Of course I missed it

So I called and they said that they were probably just checking up to see if we were all still coming

I said you have never called before to do that..

They said it was new

Who knows

I was kinda hoping for a free upgrade to lets say
the beach club

LOL

are any of those that received calls doing a grand gathering? we are leaving in ten days and i got a call yesterday as well... just wanted to ask if we had any questions about our GG, if we had any add'l room requests, let us know that they do their best to block us together, etc... and although i am a disney TA, they did not call my TA number, but rather my cell number so it looks like if you booked thru a TA they would still call the guest directly...

oh, and no free upgrade offered! LOL! :)

Well, the mystery is solved. I was talking to my mom on the phone this morning and the florida number called again, so I threw her off the phone and answered it.:rotfl:

It WAS the lady that is handling the trip we won. She just wanted to tell me that she couldn't get us a flight out of JFK which is our nearest airport, but is getting one from LaGuardia. I'm thrilled because I thought they were using Southwest and it only flew from Islip, which is pretty far from me, so LaGuardia is wonderful! I wonder what airline they're going to use now? I should have asked.

I'm so relieved that that's all it and that there aren't any problems with my trip coming up in 9 days. 9 days? Whoo-hoo! :cool1:
