Why DD8's birthday at DL is forever the 2nd best day of her life/for DM :)

So last night we went to a concert, it was a concert we've been to before but last nights had some twists that we hadn't experienced before. So, since I can't leave Dangermouse hanging, here is why DL has been replaced in DD8's mind as the Best Day of Her Life. We took the kids to see Keith Urban/Carrie Underwood. I work in the music business so I was able to get us tickets and backstage passes-not the uber cool meet Keith Urban passes, but it was still fun to go backstage. We were given the backstage tour, the girls got to see their first tour bus and we met a few of the guitar techs, then we got to see the behind the scenes (behind the stage) and we talked with a few other people, then we met Brian Nutter, he plays in Keith's band. We chatted with him for quite a while, he and DD8 traded stories on how they got their scars on their foreheads (LOL) and then we went and found our seats. We were on the floor, rows 10 & 11 and we had the seats on the end so we put the girls in the seats in front of us. They were awesome seats!! We were stoked!! DBF and the girls went to grab something to eat and they got back right as Carrie Underwood came on, we watched the show and ate pizza. Man, that girl can sing!! She is right on par with Faith Hill, in fact I liked her better than Faith. She was on for 2 hours!!!! Then she was off and they set up for Keith. Keith came out and the place went wild! He played and played and played....and man, he can play!!! In total he played for 2 hours too!! About 1 1/2 hours into it he came over to stage right, where we were sitting......he came down off the stage and walked through the floor seats, the girls freaked out, we went over and got our hands touched as he walked by, he jumped up on the railing and played some more, then he signed the guitar and GAVE it someone in the audience!! He walked back to the stage past us, saw DD8 and DD11 standing there with me and he STOPPED, smiled at the girls, bent down, took their hands and said "HI, Thanks for coming" smiled again and ran off!!! OMG, I thought they girls were going to DIE! LOL Seriously, DD11 sat down and DD8 just stood there with her mouth on the floor! lol It was awesome!!!! We had the BEST time!! After DD8 touched Keith (btw, I touched him both times too and he smiled at me when he smiled at the kids.....*swoon* LOL) she said "I'm never washing my hands again!!!!!" LOL This morning she had taken a shower so I asked her about that and she said "Oh it's OK Mom, I wiped my hands on the shirt" LOL We got shirts at the concert too, courtesy of Galen and Brian.
So that is why last night is better than her birthday at DL. LOL

That's awesome! Thanks for sharing. But I dread the day where dd's(10) affections change from DLR to a concert!
