Hi everyone,

I see everyones signatures w/ lists of different resorts, and I say to DH all the time, next time we go to WDW we'll try another resort.

But no, we always end up calling and asking for WL. We love WL, but we've always wanted to try AKL, or Poly, or POR, or any other resort! BUT WE CAN'T STOP WITH WL!!!

Sigh...to everyone that has a list of different resorts on your signatures, kudos to you...I wish we were 'strong' enough to choose like you guys! :(

Ok, next trip...we're DEFINETLY going to another resort...maybe...we'll see...I don't know...OH!!!!!!!!!!

We've stayed at most of the resorts at some point over the last 8 or 9 years, but whenever we decide on where to stay, WL always gets first consideration because its just an incredible resort. We love boardwalk, Caribbean beach, POFQ, but none of those had us in awe like WL did when we first stayed and still does every time we go again. In fact, when we did try AKL for the first time we liked that as well and expected to be blown away but WL spoiled it for us. They are very similar in some ways as far as the lobby ,etc. and although we really liked it we both thought we might as well have just stayed at WL which is also the cheapest of the deluxes and the best of the deluxes as far as we are concerned. Dont feel bad about not staying anywhere else. Why wouldnt you want to be surrounded by perfection?

While my first love is also The Wilderness Lodge I live so close that we can take many more trips to WDW then most, we can try other resorts because of discount availability (Florida Residents Specials) I will not pay Rack Rate plus my DVC Membership is at the VWL so we alway know we will be back...makes it easier to try new Resorts...Why not trying an extra night or two at a new resort then completing your stay at WL.(split stay)

You just know what you like, but like I told Majestic, "How do you know it's the best, if your haven't tried the rest?'

I know I really should try them all. I guess we're creatures of habit b/c it just boils down to WL again. And I WANT to be blown away or in awe w/ other resorts, but the fear of disappointment I think keeps us at WL. I guess we're scared that other resorts may not compare to WL and it's...amazing ambiance. And the funny thing is, when we booked our honeymoon pckg w/ Disney, they recommended WL and I was a bit skeptical, "I want something more romantic, not a freakin log cabin!"...but when we arrived, we were blown away! Now whenever we talk to ppl going to Disney, we highly recomend it to everyone!

I've wanted to try AKL and POR reallly badly and of course GF, but GF is out of our budget and AKL is kinda far and POR is only a bus for transport, blah blah blah...we ALWAYS have an excuse! And we stayed at the Dolphin 2 yrs ago after WL and it just wasn't...Disney enough for us. That kinda turned us off from trying other resorts.

We were going to split the stay for our May trip, (AKL and WL at AP rates)...but we 'figured' we're only staying for 5 days, why go thru the hassle. So there really is no excuse for us...we just gotta get off our butts and visit a NEW resort next time. And w/ the rates w/ AP, POR is really a great price!!!

Since the Lodge has opened we have only stayed there. We did do a stay with 5 days at the Lodge and 5 at the Beach Club...and actually asked to be changed back to the Lodge. As nice as the Beach CLub was...and we always visit it(Love the Cape May Cafe for a character breakfast..or for dinner) we found that it was a hassle to get something quick to eat..everything being of the sit down type of restaurant and the kids were younger and just didn't wan't to wait every time we just wanted to grab a quick bit. Which is why we like the Roaring Forks option at the Lodge. It's not a food court..but still quick enought to get something simple and either eat there or bring out to the pool or back to your room even. We like the option of the Whispering Canyon..but usually only eat there once or twice. We like to hit the restaurants at the different hotels..give us a chance to check them out...and still have our favorite ..the Wilderness Lodge.\

I am tempted to try the Poly again ..especially since the pool has been revamped..only I've heard either great or horribly things about it. There seems to be no inbetween with it. Either you love it or hate it. Somewhat inconsistent. Where as with the Lodge it has not dissapointed us. It is a beautiful resort.

I know exactly what you mean(especially about the quick food)! I too still prefer WL over BC! We try to visit other resorts on every other visit! This year we decided to give the Poly a shot! I know I'll love it...but I always long for the Lodge! Loving the Lodge is like an incurable disease...a good one though!!!
