Why can I modify a reservation one day past my 7 month booking window...

This morning at 6:30 am, I successfully modified an existing reservation to include the night of 10/1. I tried looking for a new reservation for 9/29-10/1, I was given the message that I was outside my booking window. I even tried after 8:00 am and was given that same message.

Trying to make a separate one-night reservation would require waiting until 7 months from the check in date of that single night. Since you are allowed to book up to 7 nights right when the booking window opens, you can modify the reservation to extend by one night on a daily basis.

OK so you reserved the 7 days on the first day of your booking window and then on the 2nd day you modify that 7 day reservation to be an 8 day reservation, on the 3rd day it can become 9 days and so on? Thanks I have a 10 day reservation I need to book coming up and don't want to screw it up.
