Why aren't the OKW towels as nice as Kidani's?

Ok, my name is Sue, and I'm a towel snob. Now that we've gotten that out of the way - we spent two nights at Kidani this week. I was struck by how much more plush the towels were there than the nearly thread-bare towels at OKW. (The last time we were at OKW was in May.) I would think there would be some standardization across DVC properties. What gives?

I guess the same reason the bedding at BLT is nicer than other resorts, not sure why but it is.

But I agree I think it stinks that they are not the same.

And a very good question to be asked of Member Satisfaction.

I've always gotten the plush towels at OKW since they started using them.

Same here. Even considered buying some from the Disney Collection catalogue provided in the villa.

Before you buy from the catalog, you might want to run a comparison check. What is used in the beds and the baths at the Disney and DVC resorts are almost always not what is featured in the catalogs. I believe the catalogs feature Wamsutta, while the beds and baths use a different brand. At least that was how it was about 6 months ago.

Same here. They changed to the plush ones a couple years ago when they changed the sheets and other linens. I didn't notice a difference between OKW and AKV, and we own and stay at both. I have, however, occasionally gotten an old towel on T&T day.
