why are they making mk emh earlier from 7-8am rather than 8-9am?

We did a 7am EMH at Animal Kingdom on our mid-March spring break trip in 2012. I have a picture of the tree of life, pre-7 am, and it was DARK!. I didn't understand these EMHs, since AK isn't as enjoyable when it's dark out. IIRC, the safari still didn't open until after sunrise. But, we got a few rides on Everest in and then were some of the first riders on the Safari. I still wonder why they did the 7am EMH at AK and not the Magic Kingdom (MK did not open before 8am that trip).
