September isn't as slow as it used to be. The common thought is kids are back in school, so it will be less crowded. Not true. We saw so many kids on our last trip that is was crazy. September is an awesome month to go, and there is a lot going on in the fall, especially this year. Maybe people are starting to catch on. Now we just wait for Disney to raise prices accordingly. (joking)
Also somewhere involved is that based on current opening announcements, six resorts totaling roughly 8,000 rooms will still be closed in Sept. That’s roughly 36% of Disney’s hotel room stock. Probably not an inconsequential amount in light of pent up travel demand, lack of other travel options (cruising, int’l travel), and the excitement around the 50th.
I'm going with the assumption that you are looking at DVC inventory based on a previous post about resort choices.
DVC point requirements drop September 1 and remain low most of the month. Food & Wine. MNSSHP (maybe). Not as blistering hot in September as in August (it goes from damn hot and humid to stinkin' hot and humid). Lots of DVC members with points to burn. Beginning of Fall Frenzy for DVC members. And you're very deep inside of the 7-month non-home resort booking window.
I see the opposite, at least for the week I want to travel in August. My top choices aren't available (poly then WL). I put July or September in and I get the rooms I want. So strange.
