I have been looking at purchasing a DVC resale and noticed so many more people are selling their Vero Beach Timeshares than the other resorts... Are there any ideas as to why?

VB has the highest maintenance fees, and it's off site, so those are 2 reasons. Disney had to downsize the plans for the area. Maybe because of slow sales.

I know that DH and I enjoyed our visit so much that we recently purchased an add-on resale. We think it's an amazing resort and look forward to many happy vacations there.

I agree with Bobbiwoz, but I also think the fact that Vero recently sold out might lead people to think it would be easier to sell right now.

We enjoy adding a couple of beach days at the end of our WDW trips and are considering an add-on at Vero as we are a family of 6 and really love the 2 bedroom villas. How low do you think the prices might get there with such a glut of re-sells? How can Disney keep up with all of those ROFRs? Anyone know what the best price per point could be there?

Another factor is that the Vero resales don't sell as quickly as the WDW resales. In a 3 month period you might have 10 Vero resales come on the market and stay on the market. When you look at the listings, you see 10 resales. During that same time period, another resort might have 30 or 40 resales come on the market and sell, leaving only one or two to appear in the listing at any one time.

We stayed at Vero for the first time this past December (loved it, yes!).
Do you think that Disney's decision to downsize by selling off part of the Vero land (part across the street from main inn/pool area) has anything to do with it? It probably wouldn't make me sell, if I owned at that resort, but we did meet a few Vero DVC'rs who were pretty hot under the collar about Disney changing the plans for the resort...promises broken, etc. Just a thought....maybe it wouldn't affect people's choices at all. Keeping the resort smaller might be nicer for us all in the long run.

I liked that they kept it smaller because I never wanted to have to stay "on the other side". ;)

I know a lot of people love Vero Beach (I can't comment, I haven't stayed there yet), but they do have the highest maintance fees which turns people off and people really do want to buy the place that they're going to stay in the most. Therefore not as many people are interested in buying Vero Beach. I would like to stay there at some point, but I'm sure I can get some kind of reservation with my SSR that I'm only paying a $3.80 maintance fee on.
