Why are there so FEW Magic reviews?

I am so anxious each week to read all of the review on the Magic, but it is so dissappointing to see all the Wonder reivews and hardly anything on the Magic. Thanks to all those who wrote Magic reviews......But where are some of the other cruisers? Seems each Wonder cruise has 3,4,5, different posters each week that review.......Magic, 1 if we are lucky! What's up? We are sailing on March 27th on the Magic and I will be sure to write an extensive review.

We sailed on the Magic March 6-14, earlier this year. I wrote a trip report when I got back, but it looks like the forums get deleted after about two months.

Anyway, my online photo album is still available on my private site. The captions serve as a trip report. Here's the URL:

Here are my tips:

1. Book an excursion! We had a ball on the Golden Eagle Catamaran trip on St. Maarten and the 5 Star Snorkeling Tour in St. John's. I had an 8 year old and a 6 year old, and they did fine, although the 6 year old preferred to play on the beach rather than snorkel.

2. WalMart sells some plastic ID holders that hang around your neck for about $1.00. They're on the same rack as the wallets/coin purses. They're great for holding the ID/charge cards they'll give you. Also, you can have the credit card information removed from the kids' ID cards... I highly recommend that! That way, if they get lost, no big deal.

3. Drop off some new t-shirts at the customer service desk and leave them to get signed by all the Disney characters. When you pick them up, all the signatures are on the shirts. The kids loved that, and they got lots of comments on them at school.

I know what you mean! I wanted to read them all prior to our trip. I am working on mine right now and getting bits and pieces posted. Hope you enjoy it.

We have booked the March 6 Eastern Magic cruise for 2004. How was the weather on your cruise? Were there a lot of "Spring Breakers" on the ship? Did your kids try the Clubs? If so, did they like them? Glad to see you had a nice time. The pictures are wonderful.

Denae,

Our weather was BEAUTIFUL. It seems to me that our first night at sea was a little rough... from what I remember the waves were 7-10 feet or something, but not a big deal at all. I remember the juggler onstage trying to catch his footing a lot and making some wisecracks about the waves, but it didn't seem to be a big deal. Then, on Castaway Cay, I think it rained a little bit, but we didn't care.

As for the Clubs, yes my kids went, sometimes not willingly, but we made them go anway. Here's my opinion on the clubs.

I have an 8 and 6 year old; my brother and his wife have a 6 and 4 year old. The two 6 year olds and 4 year old liked their club because they could all be in the same room. However, the 8 year old was in the older kids' club, so he didn't like being alone. We tried really hard to hook him up with friends his own age as we encountered kids on our excursions, at the pool, etc. So, by the end of the trip, he was fine; he knew kids in the club and was happy to go there. BUT, I think the DCL staff that runs the kids clubs (the older one especially) should make a bigger point of playing "get to know you" games on the first few nights. At that age, kids just want to play with friends, and I think it would have made our 8 year old happier and less anxious to go to the club if he could have hooked up with someone earlier in the trip.

Long answer to a short question!

Thanks for the info. We are so looking forward to our trip. I can hardly stand it!

My kids are 4 and 3 and I am hoping that they will spend some time in the clubs. It sounds like they will have a blast and since they will be together, they shouldn't feel lonely. My girls are 6 days short of a year apart but their birthdays fall on both sides of the school cut-off so they will be in the same grade in school - go figure! They have a whole lifetime of being together to look forward to.

If I can figure it out, I will try to post some photos of our trip and a trip report when we return.

Thanks again,

Denae

Joy....Thanks for the photo link! Great pics. Looks like you had a great time. Great suggestions as well, though, we don't have any kids so a few will go by the wayside, althought the T-Shirt idea would make a great gift for my niece who's 3 and Loves Disney stuff.

Denae, we'll all be awaiting your review and I will write one after my March 27th Western Magic and hopefully we'll start a new trend of Magic passengers reviewing for all those waiting in the wings...so to speak!

I think that it possibly because they are 7 day cruises. We got off the ship on 11/22 and back home late 11/25. It has taken me this long to download, touch up & crop, then upload to purchase prints of all the digital pictures we took. I still have 8 rolls of film here to send out to get developed. Not to sound like a scrooge but Christmas & all the trimmings right after we returned also took alot of time. I scrapbook and journal whenever possible so I wanted to write out my memories of our trip for us to look back at. It is pretty time consuming though.

You know I was thinking exactly the same opposite thing.

Why are there so many trip reports about the Magic and so few about the Wonder:p
