Denae,
Our weather was BEAUTIFUL. It seems to me that our first night at sea was a little rough... from what I remember the waves were 7-10 feet or something, but not a big deal at all. I remember the juggler onstage trying to catch his footing a lot and making some wisecracks about the waves, but it didn't seem to be a big deal. Then, on
Castaway Cay, I think it rained a little bit, but we didn't care.
As for the Clubs, yes my kids went, sometimes not willingly, but we made them go anway. Here's my opinion on the clubs.
I have an 8 and 6 year old; my brother and his wife have a 6 and 4 year old. The two 6 year olds and 4 year old liked their club because they could all be in the same room. However, the 8 year old was in the older kids' club, so he didn't like being alone. We tried really hard to hook him up with friends his own age as we encountered kids on our excursions, at the pool, etc. So, by the end of the trip, he was fine; he knew kids in the club and was happy to go there. BUT, I think the
DCL staff that runs the kids clubs (the older one especially) should make a bigger point of playing "get to know you" games on the first few nights. At that age, kids just want to play with friends, and I think it would have made our 8 year old happier and less anxious to go to the club if he could have hooked up with someone earlier in the trip.
Long answer to a short question!
