1)You say the Wiccans pray with props. What kind of props?
Many have altars with candles, herbs, incense etc. All have symbolism in nature. Stones symbolize the earth etc.
2)Harm none-does this mean that they do not put 'curses' or 'spells' on people?
Spells, but only as prayers. As in, a spell for good luck etc. Good Wiccans do not curse people, such as *ahem* the entire Salem police dept. A local prominent Wiccan lost my respect and that of many others in our area when she did that. Not good. I've never known a good Wiccan who cursed someone. This person who cursed the PD is, IMHO, an idiot.
3)3x- so if a Wiccan does something mean to a person, they believe they will have 3 mean things done to them? So on that-if something bad happens to them, do they think that they must have done something bad and are getting 'repaid'?
Depends on the person. I usually don't jump to that conclusion when something bad happens to someone, unless they are known to be a very unpleasant person.
I try focus more on what I do in my own life.
4) Worshipping the devil-I honestly didn't know. So you say that they worship the 'gods and goddesses?' Do they believe that there are certain gods for certain things (god of weather, god of safety, god of love etc..)
Crankyshank summed it up nicely. I tend more towards a general male and female god and goddess, but I've been known to mutter a prayer to an ancient god or goddess depending on the prayer.
Crankyshanks response:
Again it depends on the person and the path that they are on. There are god/desses that represent certain things much like Catholics have Saints that have their own particular speciality (have you ever studied mythology? Many of the god/desses that are worship are the god/desses of mythology. Usually they honor the male and female aspect of the higher power. Wicca is the modern version of the ancient religions before Christianity exisited. I really cant give you the accurate answer you are searching for because its so varied. Beliefs are very personal and individual things. Even the word Wicca and Pagan arent really the best words to use because there are different paths and belief systems vary based on the path (Norse, Strega, Celtic, druid, Gardnerian, etc
5) Magick-what exactly is that? Why does it have a 'k' on it, is it different than magic?
The use of spells. Not all Pagans and Wiccans use it. It's been spelled that way for a loooong time. I honestly do not know offhand how long that spelling has been around but I've seen it in old books spelled that way also.
6) I asked if they hated Christians in a genuine way. I didn't know. I again wasn't being condesending. I (in my unknowing way) thought that Wiccans were like witches, into witchcraft, curses, etc... and thought that they were against God and therefore, would be against Christians.
I don't hate Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Atheists, Agnostics or anyone in between. I don't judge people based upon their religion as long as they don't judge me based upon mine.
Some Wiccans do call themselves Witches. It's not a negative, evil word to us. It's merely someone who worships the goddess and gods of Pagan religion and worships nature. In past centuries they were thought to be healers, midwives and all other sorts of professions that used herbs and spells to bring comfort to others.
The sort of people, again, who would ever use curses are not Wiccans IMO. I'd equate them with the sort of people who use other religions for evil (ie. terrorists, clinic bombers, people who committ hate crimes etc.). They are merely taking a beautiful and peaceful faith and distorting it into something horrible. The woman I mentioned before who cursed our local PD, did it out of personal spite because she is, well, just a little too high up on herself. As soon as that came out, the rest of the Wiccan community spoke out against her and even did things to raise money to help out the local PD. Whatever this womans reason for doing what she did, it lost her a LOT of respect.
I think if you look hard enough at people who believe in different gods than you, you will find that they are not against you, your god, or anyone else. The only thing I am against is people who treat others with cruelty based upon their religion.
