ETA: Couldn't see the image and had to put in the address on my explorer....
It looks much more frightening now.... :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Marshmallows are evil--can someone buy those all up and burn them with the boards?

Yes, I went this morning. And much to my delight, they didn't have any! So I didn't have to spend my money, or talk to the manager. I will be watching at Christmas though, as the toy department is usually expanded then.....

Thanks for keeping me accountable! I wouldn't lie to you. If they would have had them, I would have bought them and destroyed them. And would have talked to the manager.

Instead, I got to spend my money on a new shelving unit for the toyroom :)

You know, I'm just going to go with the idea that you're either joking or looking to start an argument...it beats the heck out of the alternatives.

So is there some metaphyscial person working in the Parker Brothers factory that imbues these things with evil spirits? They are mass produced game boards, pieces of cardboard.

I don't know about anyone else, but I don't believe in trying to conjure up spirits...no matter how you go about doing it. But that's just me. ;)

Also, thanks to all of you, I have a sudden craving for s'mores. :rotfl:

Weren't the Original Ouija Boards made of wood? :confused3 I remember them being made of some type of wood. And, I have seen them in "other" stores besides Kmart and Walmart. :rolleyes1 I had to search high and low for one for my DD back about 7-8 years ago. I couldn't find them anywhere, and finally found one at a KB toy store. :confused3 My DD used it ONE time, at a friends house, and NEVER used it again. :confused3 When she went off to college, I found in the BOTTOM of her closet. ;) I tried it a few times with a friend, but found nothing too thrilling with it, although my Mom used it more than I did. :rolleyes1

I've learned not to scoff at people because you just never know. Ouija boards are toys but what's important is what people believe because these beliefs are make these things real IMO.

As for what they're made of, you can make them yourself easily. Parker Brothers has no claim to anything spiritual. Also, burning all of the supply in one store won't really make much of a difference. :)

Good point. I think the game itself is just cardboard and plastic, but the idea of talking to spirits is obviously a possibility to many people, or the game would not exist. If someone thinks it is a bad idea to talk to spirits, that idea is no more crazy than the idea that it is OK to talk to them.

I bet they have some at your local Toys-R-Us. :rotfl2: Go forth and rid the world of evil.

Glad you are all so amused by me! :)

But, in all sincerity, I can't rid the world of evil, but if I can rid one house of it, I am happy!

Have a good night, time for me to sign off now. ;)

I bet Amazon.com sells a crapload of ouija boards. :rotfl2: You should go online and buy all of them. Really. SOmeone might use them for evil. :wizard:

Wow I am the person who started that original Ouijia board thread, and look what has happened! Oh my!! I don't even have time right now to read everything in this one!

You do realize that if the store is empty one day, a person can come back the next and get one. And that you buying up all the boards just makes for a higher demand of the product and a profit for the company. This is the same as people buying Harry Potter books and burning them. Do you not get how not smart that is. You're creating profit and demand for a product that you don't like. So, basically you're doing the exact opposite of what you hope to do. Not to mention adding unnecessary pollutants to the air. If you don't like the products, don't buy them. Anyway, I would think that if you really think a Ouija board is the devil's portal that you wouldn't even want to touch it. I sort of see this as the devil having a bit of power over you.

Oiuja boards are for people who are trying to contact the dead, or spirits.
Not a good idea. Opening yourself up to the demon world, is just scary.
I will check my walmart tomorrow. If they sell them, I will buy all of them. And then I will burn them.
Then I will ask the manager to not sell them anymore..... (not that that will work probably!)

That's insane, but whatever floats yer boat.

satan and I will have a party in your honor. :confused3 We will buy Parker Bros. games like Candyland and Chutes and Ladders. OOOOHHHHHHH.

Dude, Candyland is EVIL. Pure Evil. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Don't even get me started on Pictionary....You never know what kind of pictures the great satan will draw.... :rotfl:

At any rate, people who are sensitive to other worldly contact are going to get it regardless of whether or not they use a board or not. Most people will not. Some of those who will wish they didn't. For most people who have ghost encounters it is easily explained by science, psychology and or tricks of light and vision.

Oujia boards themselves are toys. The ones most people are talking about are manufactured by Parker Bros and they are really just a joke.

But lets for a few seconds just reach kind of far here and say that for whatever reason, they ARE real. Why are they evil? Why would you assume that you are going to reach Satan, and not, like, your deceased great aunt Edna who just wants to say hi and share her favorite pie recipe with you?

I will never understand that. :confused3 If there are ghosts out there, and I think there probably are but I am a big skeptic (see my ghost picture post on the Do you Believe thread), why is it assumed by people that they are all evil and not that they are similiar in personality types to living people. Some are kind, gentle and some are mean and cranky. Some are sad, some are pranksters. Very few would actually be evil, just like IRL, among the living there are a lot more good people than bad people.

I just do not get it. :confused3 If you happen to have a real encounter with a ghost, chances are it won't be because you've gone seeking one, and chances are the ghost in question will have just been an average person in life who is lost and confused, not someone who is going to attack you or do something evil to you.
