In the past couple years, I've been able to get a rate for 11 days for under 200. total for full size or mid size SUV, for the month of Sept. Did I just miss the window of opportunity for great Sept rates, or are they just not available this year? BTW, I know the rates usually improve once you get a bit closer to your travel dates, but I recall booking very early & getting the best rate.
Did you book in Feb or March and get a deal?

Car rentals in Orlando have been climbing. Last May I got a mid-size SUV for a week at a total price of $98. This May a compact car for eight days is $167.

You haven't missed any windows of opportunity. Grab what you can and keep checking. If you find something lower book it and cancel your previous reservation.

My booking for Aug is rediculously high. If you check Mousesavers you'll note that all the deals/cpns end in June. I'll change my ressie when the new codes come out. I've never paid more than $150 for 8 days. :surfweb:

i booked in mid January for Sept 28-Oct. 5th

full size $158 and a minivan $204. both rates are including tax, this is with Dollar and the code was OCVB.

i check back periodically and have yet to see anything close to my rates.

We have a full-size from Dollar for $223 (all inclusive) for 8 days. This was the best I could find anywhere. I used www.rentalcarmomma.com None of the "good" ($40 or $50 off/week) coupons are valid past June or so. I am hoping something better comes along. We paid something like $123 a year ago for a convertible for 8 days.

I agree! I hope that after easter the rates will come down a bit but you might be right about the June exp. coupons. I hope there's a $40 coupon out there for August! keep your fingers crossed!
