Why are AP rates MORE then the other ones?

When I checked for hotel rates the AP rates are over $100 MORE then the general hotel availability rates! Anyone know why? If I call will they give it to me for less?

They shouldn't be more than rack rate.

Yeah, well DLH AP rate is $288 a night, the "winter" rate is $217 a night...makes NO sense!

Which dates are you looking at? Sometimes the sales are cheaper than the AP rate. For example, the dates of my trip are March 29-31. The price (before taxes/fees) WITH the AP rate is $568 ($284 a night) for a standard room at PPH. The same dates WITHOUT the AP rate, but rather the "Spring Deal" or whatnot, are $428. I have absolutely no clue why they'd do that...

The "winter deal" requires you to stay more than one night. The AP rate doesn't.

It could be that the AP rate is a 10% discount. The spring/winter rate is a special 30% discount going on right now, and is better than current military, AP, & AAA rates, and maybe the senior rate.

Yes the 30% IS cheaper, this happens EVERY time I go though...that DL has a better sale then the AP rate.....just seems like one of the "selling" points of the AP is the hotel discount, but I have NEVER used it ha ha!

Sometimes they do have AP specials, where the rates are the best out there -- others on this board keep much better track of those deals than I do.
