I mean, they keep the Toontown and Club Penguin open, But those are paying games. Why cant they keep VMK open? Because they only care about the money. They dont care about us one bit.:sad1:

Dont they know that thousands of players log in every single day to play VMK? They dont care. >:/

True. I've noticed that there are hardly ANY free good games out there anymore. VMK is unlike the rest you know? It's magical:wizard:
That's why they should keep it! They get enough money off of other Disney products as it is.

I am sure they gave thought to charging for the game, as disney has no problem, charging for some of their other games, sometimes, it isnt always about money, maybe its simply as yavns newsletter said, this was a special event, they did keep it around longer then they expected to, now they are closing it, they have new ideas there working on, I remember in there parks over the years, many changes, and changes you did not understand, they took out the signing bears, some time ago, and that I thought had been at disney since I was a small kid, they do make changes, and some you may not expect, or have a hard time accepting, in time maybe people will find a game out there they like to play, or find other things to do in life.

I wonder how many future Disney online games will be only temporarily active because it is a promotion? Fairies comes to mind.
How many players who joined last year knew VMK was only a promotional advertisement that had run it's course long ago?

I understand disney is a business and needs to make money but why destroy something so sucessful? Why not modify it to make it profitable?

I'm actually very, VERY surprised. And despite the blurb about it having run longer than they said it was going to (anyone know how long that actually was?), I get the impression that this was an extremely sudden and recent decision.

It really makes no sense at all.

I have to agree with you, in why not modify it to make it profitable, Many companies have promotions they start, and some become so successful they decide to stay with it. Why didn't disney with vmk? well as player's don't have all the statistics, maybe they have to pay out to much money, to the creator of the game, it could be things like that, but I have seen disney make changes in there parks etc, and they do move ahead, and so until we see what they have way down the road, may not figure it out to then. If you think about it this was not a sudden decision, they closed vmk in the parks last year, I don't believe this came out of the blue, one good thing, from all this is, people trying to get this to the media etc, is other designers, may come up with a online game, that could be like vmk, it would not be disney true, but could be similiar.Fill a much needed want, that some people want to have.

Idk if they care about us, if they do, they have a strange way of showing it.

But on thing is certain, All Hosts do care about us. :goodvibes

Yes. Changes happen. But they are not about to completely close down one of their parks. So that is absolutely no comparison here.

I always thought of VMK as an extension of the real parks. So why close down the virtual park? Especially if they put a little effort into it, it could make them money.

I never have been and never will be interested in a limited interest online game.

I would only be interested in Disney. That is the only reason why I started playing VMK. It was Disney. And not just one or two things about Disney. But just about everything Disney.

Yeah, I have to agree with all of you. I know that VMK cares about us sometimes, But they just threw it out there. Like nothing bad happened. It was like this " Its closing, Deal with it, go to the paying games so we can get more money. >___<
