Why am I having issues adding friend’s kids to my MDE family and friends but my husband did on his?

In MDE, when I select “add a gues” and then “find through a connected guest”m I do not see my friend’s 2 kids. When I did it through my husband‘s MDE account, he was able to see them and get connected fine so I know my friend‘s list isn’t private. any idea what I might be doing wrong on my side? My friend is going to check her profile settings too but since my husband was able to link the kids, it must be on my side.

I never did this, but does she have to share her kids info with you/your account?

I think it may be your friend's profile settings. She may have you set to only view "only our shared plans" vs "all my plans" and it isn't showing the other profiles.

When we were setting up our MDE a couple of years ago in preparation for our vacation, we found some features worked for certain people, but not others. Disney IT applications all tend to be very glitchy. We found it easier to just call Disney and get someone on the phone to fix it for us. You can waste a lot of time with the 'try this/try that' method when it isn't something you can fix on your own. The Disney phone person was able to resolve our issues and they also couldn't really explain what the problem was.

Thanks everyone. I’m going to have to call. She is sharing her profile correctly. When I deleted 2 people from my friends/family list who aren’t going on this trip, it added 2 people from her list that I could connect with (just not the right people). I can’t delete anymore people from my account so see if it adds the 2 kids I am looking for since everyone on my account now is going on the trip. Weird!!!

I had trouble adding my sisters family to mine- mostly because she controls her husband and kids accounts all under one account. I called and after a few transfers to different departments got an amazing tech person that fixed everything. I had to have my sisters username and password so that they could access the accounts. It took about an hour on the phone but it was worth it.

Hi Everyone. I called Disney and was able to get them added. Just a weird glitch I guess. Was only on hold for 45 minutes when the call said wait time would be 84 minutes. Not too bad.

I was able to get this to work with my friend's kid by waiting a couple days. There's also a link on the MDE app that you could use to add to your kid.
