Who's Turn Is It To Throw Up Today? A Feb 2014 Wedding TR - New TR link 10/27!!

When we got to the Little Mermaid ride there was no line and we didn’t really need the FP+. There wasn’t much of a line and the FP+ probably only saved us a few minutes.

So, let’s journey under the sea.

After Little Mermaid, we walked through Storybook Circus but did not ride anything. Pat mentioned at that time that she wanted to look for princess stuff for her granddaughter and great nieces. So we split up for a little bit. Mom, John and Jocelyn continued to explore Storybook Circus while Bob, Pat and I headed to Castle Couture. Pat bought a couple of princess hats and we headed to It’s a Small World where we were meeting the other three. We actually ended up waiting a while for them because they got caught up looking for Hidden Mickey’s.

Once they finally made it, we got in line for It’s a Small World. I wouldn’t be a good Disney guide if I didn’t take my guest on that classic! I also had the honor of carrying one of these babies.

The wait time said 15 minutes but as you can see by the next picture it was nowhere near that long.

While we waited the few short minutes it took to get to the front, my brother read to us from the Hidden Mickey book so we knew what to look for as we rode.

I didn't take as many pictures as I usually do but I still took a few.

The first hidden Mickey is actually in the next picture, can you spot it?

Well, actually I should have said can you spot them because there are a few.

As many times as I’ve ridden that ride, I never noticed that vine of Mickey heads!

According to the Hidden Mickey book, these Koalas are supposed to be hidden Mickeys also. I find that a bit of a stretch although their heads are sort of Mickey shaped.

After Small World, we headed down the hill into Liberty Square and got in line for the Haunted Mansion. The wait time said 15 minutes which was cutting it very close to the end time of our BTMR FP+ which was for 10 am – 11 am. I really didn’t want them to miss the Haunted Mansion though so I took the risk.

Mom and I were once again the only ones who had seen the graveyard so the others had fun playing a bit as we waited.

John was reading the Hidden Mickey book to us again and we managed to find this one.

I also managed to snag a picture of dear Leota with her eyes open.

I didn’t get any pictures on the actual ride, I think I was too busy looking for Hidden Mickey’s. That ride is so dark though that other than the plates in the ballroom, I didn’t spot the others.

We had to hustle to make it to BTMR and actually arrived at 11:10 am but our FP+ still worked 10 minutes late. Jocelyn chose to sit this one out since she was still feeling yucky. She said she wanted to ride Space Mountain and would rather get sick on that one.

Pat had a good time telling us about the time her two boys managed to talk their Grandma (Pat’s Mom) into riding BTMR. She was apparently not a fan of thrill rides and the boys told her it was just a train ride. It didn’t sound like she was too happy when she got off! It’s funny the stories you remember because that incident probably happened at least 20 years ago.

After our wild ride on BTMR, it was time to head for some adventure. At this point I had a major fail because we needed a restroom stop and I could not find the bathrooms near Pirates. I forgot that they are kind of hidden back in next to the store. But luckily John spotted Tortuga Tavern and even though it wasn’t open, the bathrooms were. It did give us a chance to find the Hidden Mickey in there.

We got in line and rode Pirates next. For some reason, I did not take one picture from the line or actual ride. Mom, Pat and I ended up in the front row and when we went down the hill a huge tidal wave came over the boat and totally soaked our shoes. I’ve never gotten wet like that on Pirates! I think it must be the new boats because I’ve read a lot lately about people getting wet.

It was lunch time when we got off of Pirates so we stopped for a minute to discuss lunch. John wanted to back track to Peco Bills but poor Jocelyn really wanted some chicken noodle soup. The only place that I knew for sure had that was Cosmic Rays so we made our way towards Tomorrowland.

We split up to order but when we started into the seating area, a CM stopped us. They were seating everyone and would not let us in till everyone in our party was together. Some families were complaining about this but I thought it was very nice not to have to fight to find a table.

I’m pretty sure I got pictures of most of the food but I don’t remember at this point what everything was. I know I got the rotisserie chicken:

This chicken was ok but not nearly as good as the rotisserie chicken I had at Sunshine Seasons.

Here’s the rest of the dishes.

Oh and for dessert, I got chocolate cake.

We were seated near Sonny Eclipse but it was noisy in there and you really couldn’t hear him.

Not a fan of IASW Hated it in NY in '64 and feel the same today :rotfl: just thought I'd put that out there, :duck: however enjoyed your pictures Now I saw the koalas being hidden Mickeys and the ones on the vines being more of a stretch Thrilled with your picture of open eyed Leota I have NEVER seen her like that IRL only a picture or two and yours is wonderful

Pluto pins and anything else Trust me I will always give you a heads up on something new or even something I think is unique ;)

Great morning in MK! Love the Little Mermaid and IASW pictures! Glad your BTMR FP+ still worked even though it was a little late!

I think this is one of the things I don't like about FP+ and that's trying to anticipate what may require FP+ TWO MONTHS AHEAD!!! Granted, you can change them and stuff, but still...

WooHoo wait time card!!!

It's so funny hearing from regular Disney goers who had no idea Leota opened her eyes!!

Pirates still kills me with it's new wet drop. I've heard it's new boats. Such a surprise from a ride I've been riding since childhood.

NO! Not snow!! The dreaded S word!!! I would've been the opposite of Jim--fingers crossed I'd get snowed in (snowed out??) and have to stay in WDW!! :goodvibes
Your poor SIL! At least she was a trooper and tried to get into the magic even though she wasn't feeling so good.
I love looking for hidden mickeys, too!! The koala hidden mickey is much more believable if you turn around and look at the back of their heads after you pass them. Then they are the exact right shape.
Looking forward to hearing more about your KTTK tour! I'm sure they didn't let you take pics of anything behind the scenes that was TOO exciting but I'm sure you can still fill us in!!! :yay:

Great pictures.

Glad to see that they made those poor Koala heads to be more of a HM shape. I've always thought that the imagineers did such a bad job at moulding the Koalas. They look NOTHING like the ones in IaSW.

Fantastic timing to have Madame Leota open her eyes. She's normally snoozing when I walk past.
Glad you managed to get on BTM despite being a little late.

Food looks great at Cosmic Rays.

Oh My! I hope its a long time before I see snow again. :rotfl2:

That little old CM at PP is just too cute. I, too, wonder how long he has worked there.

Great PP group pics.

Your pics inside Peter Pan turned out really well as did the pictures on little mermaid. Sounds like such a fun day. :thumbsup2

What a great morning at the MK. I love the pictures from the Mermaid ride; as for IASW, eh...I scrolled through those. ;) And good pictures at the Haunted Mansion too.

I knew they held you all at Pecos Bills but did not know that they were now doing that at Cosmic Rays too.

You know when it comes to Small World, once a trip is fine for me. It has a lot of great memories from childhood for me so that's why I think I feel the need to ride every time. But it's definitely not my favorite MK ride. You'll have to watch Leota next time. Her eyes actually open pretty often but only for a second or two so it's easy to miss.

Pluto pins and anything else Trust me I will always give you a heads up on something new or even something I think is unique ;)

Got mine over the weekend and love it! Thanks again!

Great morning in MK! Love the Little Mermaid and IASW pictures! Glad your BTMR FP+ still worked even though it was a little late!

It was a pretty productive morning. 10 minutes after seems to be OK in most instances. I've also found you can get into the line about 5 minutes early.

I think this is one of the things I don't like about FP+ and that's trying to anticipate what may require FP+ TWO MONTHS AHEAD!!! Granted, you can change them and stuff, but still...

It is a little annoying to have to decide so far ahead! I didn't have too much trouble making changes on the fly except my last trip in May. MDE was down for the first two days so changes had to be made at a kiosk. I do hope they get those kind of bugs worked out soon!

WooHoo wait time card!!!

I don't know why but I always get so thrilled when I get one of those!

It's so funny hearing from regular Disney goers who had no idea Leota opened her eyes!!

It does happen pretty quickly so if you aren't paying attention it's easy to miss. I love all the little details like that!

Pirates still kills me with it's new wet drop. I've heard it's new boats. Such a surprise from a ride I've been riding since childhood.

In May it was even worse! We were in the front seat again and I ended up with water in my eyes and mouth. That's how far over the boat the wave came!

NO! Not snow!! The dreaded S word!!! I would've been the opposite of Jim--fingers crossed I'd get snowed in (snowed out??) and have to stay in WDW!! :goodvibes

I would definitely NOT mind getting snowed in at Disney! Well as long as the snow was back home and not at Disney.

Your poor SIL! At least she was a trooper and tried to get into the magic even though she wasn't feeling so good.

She was miserable poor thing but luckily by the next day she was feeling much better.

I love looking for hidden mickeys, too!! The koala hidden mickey is much more believable if you turn around and look at the back of their heads after you pass them. Then they are the exact right shape.

I'll have to take a look at the back of their heads when I go again in October.

Looking forward to hearing more about your KTTK tour! I'm sure they didn't let you take pics of anything behind the scenes that was TOO exciting but I'm sure you can still fill us in!!! :yay:

Yeah I didn't get any pictures from the tour but I did take some notes so I'll relate as much as I can. Of course that's still a few days after the one I'm currently writing about so it will be a bit before I get there.

Great pictures.

Glad to see that they made those poor Koala heads to be more of a HM shape. I've always thought that the imagineers did such a bad job at moulding the Koalas. They look NOTHING like the ones in IaSW.

They do look a little strange for Koalas so maybe they were meant to be HMs.

Fantastic timing to have Madame Leota open her eyes. She's normally snoozing when I walk past.

If you get stuck right before entering the door and have to wait for a bit right there you can almost always catch her with the eyes open. It's so brief though it's easy to miss.

Glad you managed to get on BTM despite being a little late.

I'm glad Disney gives a little leeway with the FP+ times.

Food looks great at Cosmic Rays.

It's not bad but if I had my choice at MK I'd probably pick CHH, Casey's or BOG over it for Counter Service.

Oh My! I hope its a long time before I see snow again. :rotfl2:

Me too! We had too really crazy snow events here in Atlanta this year. You probably saw the first mess on the news with all the cars abandoned. I was very happy to miss the second one while at WDW!

That little old CM at PP is just too cute. I, too, wonder how long he has worked there.

I bet he's worked there a long time. I know I've seen him on previous trips.

Great PP group pics.

We had great luck with the PP pics this time around. Almost all of them turned out really nice.

Your pics inside Peter Pan turned out really well as did the pictures on little mermaid. Sounds like such a fun day. :thumbsup2

I still wasn't that pleased with the PP pictures but at least I got something. LM is a bit easier to photograph since it's a bit brighter in there plus the cars go slower.

What a great morning at the MK. I love the pictures from the Mermaid ride; as for IASW, eh...I scrolled through those. ;) And good pictures at the Haunted Mansion too.

I knew you would probably just scroll through the IASW photos. :rotfl: Glad you enjoyed the other ride pics.

I knew they held you all at Pecos Bills but did not know that they were now doing that at Cosmic Rays too.

I ended up at Cosmic Rays twice that week and the second time they were not seating. I much preferred it when they were seating. So much easier than trying to find a table yourself!

While we were eating, I glanced out the window and saw that the TTA was running! It was scheduled to be closed for maintenance while we were there but I found out later that they delayed the renovation. I told John who was facing the other direction and he practically jumped out of his seat and dragged us out of the restaurant. He loves the TTA and was so disappointed when it was supposed to be closed.

He did decide to let us finish eating but soon afterwards we were headed that way. I had sort of planned the COP or Buzz after lunch since I didn’t think anyone would want to jump directly onto Space Mountain which was our last FP+ from 1 pm – 2 pm. The TTA was a good alternative so we hopped on board.

The crowds weren’t too heavy.

The ride around Tomorrowland sort of gave our food some time to digest so we headed to use our FP+ for Space Mountain.

Even though this next picture is blurry, I thought it was kind of cool.

I decided for the ride photo I would do my best “haughty” princess wave. Everyone thought that was totally hilarious when we got off the ride.

Oh and in case you were worried, Jocelyn did make it through without puking.

We exited out of Space Mountain.

John decided to pretend to pick his nose for the cameras at the end. I’m not sure if he realized I managed to capture that on my camera.

Bob and Pat had used some of their snack credits when they bought Mom and me breakfast the day before so Mom decided she needed to buy them an ice cream in return with our snack credits. Since they were heading out soon, we stopped for ice cream after Space Mountain despite having just finished lunch. I’m not even sure who all got ice cream because I was a little preoccupied. My DIS friend Katt (Katt789) was somewhere in Tomorrowland that very minute and I was looking for her.

We said our goodbyes to Bob and Pat, they wanted to shop a little on Main Street before they left. They thanked me for being a tour guide and said they had a great time. They also said they would be calling me when they take their grandkids in a few years. As far as I know, they had no problems finding their way back to the resort and onto the ME.

Right after they left, I finally spotted Katt in line to see Stitch so I headed over to say hi. She was with her friend Steven. She wasn’t even supposed to be at WDW but had made a last minute trip. After they had met Stitch we walked over to where Mom, John and Jocelyn were sitting to say hi. And of course there has to be a picture to prove we met although this was actually the 2nd time we have connected at WDW. I have a feeling it won’t be the last time I see her this year either.

Up Next: A Lazy Afternoon at MK

Awwww, a nice relaxing ride around Tomorrowland aboard the People Mover. :cloud9: I have not gotten to ride it the last two times we have gone, it will def be at the top of the must do list for next time. :thumbsup2

Your Space Mountain ride photos are great, made me laugh! :rotfl2: I have a confession to make... I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THE CAMERAS ARE IN ANY OF THE RIDES AT WDW. :scared1: Isn't that a travesty? :faint:

I love your Peter Pan t-shirt, and I love Katt's Frozen themed outfit. Y'all are cute! ::yes::

YAY for John getting to ride TTA! Great pics from the ride.

Your SM ride photo is perfect!!

I didn't notice it before but love your Peter Pan shirt!

How exciting and FUN times!!! your friend looks like Elsa! i wonder how many times she was stopped?

food looks DELISH!!! love haunted mansion ride.. i never mind getting stuck in there...

Haha, I think it is so awesome how many people with May trips were so excited with the TTA maintenance delay. Just shows how popular it is with us DIS folk.

I'm going to assume when you say Katt was in line to see Stitch that it was the character and not the Great Escape. And Yay DISmeets!! :thumbsup2

Great Royal Wave on SM.

I love your pictures from TTA. Glad you got a chance to get on it.

I love the TTA! It really is a great way to relax for a little bit.

Well I think I can help you with that. Let's see....

Space Mountain - when you start out there is a curve you go around before you start up the big hill with the astronauts. The camera is on the inside of that curve. It's on opposite sides though depending on which coaster you end up on.

Splash Mountain - right as you go over the big hill.

Buzz - in the very last room where you see Zurg's spaceship. I never end up doing anything on this one because I'm too busy shooting!

TOT - I haven't quite figured this one out yet. I thought it was right after you lock into the elevator but before you fall but so far I haven't been able to time it right.

RnRC - right as you launch and enter the tunnel.

Test Track - this one moved recently. It's now somewhere right after you exit to the outside part. I haven't quite figured out the timing here either.

EE - After the backwards part as you go over the big hill.

Dinosaur - Towards the end there's a place where you pause and a really big Dinosaur jumps out at you. That's where they take the picture and it's why most people look terrified.

I think that's all of them!

I love your Peter Pan t-shirt, and I love Katt's Frozen themed outfit. Y'all are cute! ::yes::

Thanks! Katt has some of the cutest outfits!

YAY for John getting to ride TTA! Great pics from the ride.

Thanks, he was so happy to see it open!

Your SM ride photo is perfect!!

That was one of my better posses for the week. :rotfl:

I didn't notice it before but love your Peter Pan shirt!

Thanks! I had to wear that one on the day we were riding Peter Pan of course.

How exciting and FUN times!!! your friend looks like Elsa! i wonder how many times she was stopped?

She has actually tried out to be a friend of Elsa's a few times. No idea how Disney could have passed her up!

food looks DELISH!!! love haunted mansion ride.. i never mind getting stuck in there...

Food was OK. Cosmic Ray's is definitely not my favorite place to eat but it does have a good variety when you have a large party. I like getting stuck on HM if there is something fun to see and photograph!

Love your report so far. Your a good writer!

Glad you are enjoying it! Thanks for joining in.

Haha, I think it is so awesome how many people with May trips were so excited with the TTA maintenance delay. Just shows how popular it is with us DIS folk.

It is a popular ride around here! My brother though has a very different list of Must Do's than most. You'll see that in a minute when you see what we did during the afternoon.

I'm going to assume when you say Katt was in line to see Stitch that it was the character and not the Great Escape. And Yay DISmeets!! :thumbsup2

I don't even think I need to answer that one since you read all of Katt's reports too. :rotfl:

Great Royal Wave on SM.

Thanks, that was my favorite ride pose from the week.

I love your pictures from TTA. Glad you got a chance to get on it.

I was happy with those except for the ugly crane by the castle. I thought for sure it would be down when we went but I guess they left it up a little longer to do some repair work.

You're right very regal indeed looks like she could be on a postage stamp princess: or a coin

:rotfl2: :rotfl:

Once Bob and Pat left us, the rest of the afternoon was dedicated to whatever John and Jocelyn wanted to do. John named three things that were must dos for him. First up was Carousel of Progress. He loves that show and does not like to miss it.

After COP we headed out of Tomorrowland towards his second must do. But when we passed the Monster’s Inc. Laugh floor and noticed the line was short, we decided to stop in.

I think John ended up regretting that decision a little bit as he was chosen to play Randall! He is not one that ever wants to be the center of attention so being up on the screen was not a fun experience for him. Of course Mom, Jocelyn and I got a good laugh out of the whole thing.

We headed on into Liberty Square.

And into John’s favorite attraction in all of WDW.

Yep Hall of Presidents is his favorite. All of the shows we were watching this afternoon were great for Jocelyn as it gave her time to sit and rest after a bit of a hectic morning.

After HOP, we took a quick trip through the Christmas store.

I found a very cute pin that I decided I needed.

The third thing that John wanted to do this afternoon was ride the Liberty Belle. I was pretty excited to do this one myself as I didn’t have any memory of riding it in the past. I’m sure I must have ridden it sometime but didn’t remember at all. We made a quick stop at the little farmer’s market by the Liberty Belle entrance and my Mom bought a pack of three small oranges. I’m not a huge fan of oranges so she gave one to Jocelyn and one to John. Then we headed over and got in line for the Liberty Belle which was just pulling into the dock.

We tried to find a bench for Jocelyn but they were all taken. We ended up on the bottom level and she just plopped down on the deck for the journey. Of course you know what I proceeded to do since I hadn’t ridden this one in recent memory. Lots of pictures!

I’m pretty sure these totem poles (or at least a version of them) have been at MK since opening day.
