We seem to all love Peter Pan, I hope we are talking about the same fella....absolutely wonderful when we met him last summer. My 2 DD's don't speak much english so we had to answer the questions for them. Well he tried speaking French to them! I was amazed at how nice and incharacter he was.

The other ones are Chip n Dale....My youngest DD has a thing for them. Last summer she brought her favorite small stuffed toy with her to Mk because she wanted the chipmunks to meet him. We went to toontown fair and she got to introduce her animal to C & D. They started running around playing with it and teasing her. She was absolutely delighted....We have it on video, it's great to watch.

When I was on my first trip back in 93, the only characters I met were Minnie and Eeyore at Epcot. After that trip, I never went searching for the characters really; I guess the size of them intimidated me as a child, LOL.

Fast forward to 2001 and I'm heading into AK. Dale is outside, taking pictures with kids. Here I am, an 18 year old who has always loved Chip & Dale, so I hurried over and took pictures from a distance since I still didn't really want an individual picture taken. I walk a few feet away and start checking my camera to see how many pictures are left on the roll. All of the sudden I feel a big, furry paw on my head. Sure enough, it's Dale! "He" came over to visit (and rag on me) because apparently he noticed me shutterbugging away. So, I wound up with my picture taken with Dale. It was fun (and funny), and one of my favorite memories that trip.

The ladies a couple of years ago that played Snow White and Cinderella were outstanding. They played their part beautifully and were so sweet to my DD - they truly helped make our trip magical!!

I have two encounters - one that meant so much to me and one that meant so much to my son...

1. Until we actually had our beautiful son, I wasn't sure I was able to have children. Before he was born, all the baby things with "Pooh" on them became so significant to me - a Disney child. So when he was born, everything he owned had Pooh all over it. When we took him for his first WDW trip, he was one year old. We were introducing him to every character we could find. In England at WS, we stood in line and got his photo taken with Pooh - Max all decked out in his Pooh shorts outfit and baseball cap. Everything was routine and then we ducked out the back of the shop to rest. Max was drinking from his sippy cup and dropped it and began to cry. Well, who should come out the back door all alone (no handler even!) but Pooh. He patted DS's head, and fed him his sippy cup. He rubbed his tummy and did the "think think think" thing on his head. I got the whole thing on tape, trying not to cry. It was so wonderful - just DH, DS, me and Pooh.

2. One and a half years later, DS had grown up enough to pick his own favorites for himself - Mickey and Buzz Lightyear. LOVES Buzz. We surprised him at MGM with a meet and greet with Buzz, Woody and Jessie. This time, he had the Buzz shirt, sandals and baseball cap. He was in awe. He got Jessie's autograph and Woody's and Buzz was last. Woody pointed out the hat and shoes and shirt to Buzz and Buzz acted very impressed. He then took Max's hat and gestured to me, as though he was going to sign it. I nodded and he stamped his signature right there on Max's hat. Then he signed the book as well, put the hat back on Max's head and posed for the photo. DS was SO proud and in awe in the photo! It was truly a wonderful moment for all of us! DH even bought him a new Buzz hat to wear, so he could keep the signed one as a keepsake.

On our first trip to CRT, the Fairy Godmother was absolutely incredible!! Our twin dd's were 5 at them time and she said she remembered seeing them at the parade the day before.At first I thought she was just being nice...but then she went and said where we were!!! She really did remember them. My dd's still have the confetti she gave them.

Other great character meets...Chip n' Dale at Chef Mickey's. Same trip...I think they liked the twin thing. They kept coming back to the table, messing up the girls hair. It was great!

Second Trip...Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum near Aladdin's ride. There was a patio or something that was closed and they kept 'hiding' behind the tables and telling dd's not to tell the other one where they were.

Last one...Malificent (sorry for the sp) last trip. When dd asked for her autograph she was definetly in character and gave her a stern look..so dd gave it right back to her. How funny, because this is very *out* of character for dd. They had this little staring contest. It was priceles!
Sorry so long...but it just got my memory going. Only 85 more days until our next trip!!

Last year all the characters were wonderful with my DD(4). The ones that really stick out though were...

Donald and Minnie in Toontown Fair - My daughter told Minnie she loved her and Minnie 'signed' it back to her. Meanwhile Donald came up behind DD and started playing with the hair wrap in her hair. He began spinning it round like a helicopter blade and 'laughing'. They were so wonderful I was literally crying (and I'm filling up now thinking about it!)

The Princesses at Toontown Fair too - WE went at a very quiet time and were the only ones in there with them - we had a good ten minutes and they Snow White, Cinderella and Aurora) all told my daughter she was beautiful and called her Princess Gemma.

Ariel (her grotto was being done up so she was in the Toontown Fair too) - DD was totally in awe of Ariel and she was so lovely - she didn't want to let my daughter move on to the next character and kept hugging and kissing her and chatting about what my DD had been doing in the Park etc. My DD didn't really know The Little Mermaid that well before our trip (we've since got the DVD) but she now says when she grows up she wants to BE Ariel!!!!!

The other one that was truely wonderful was in Universal Studios. My DD loves the Shrek films and we'd already had our photo done once with Shrek - we passed by that way again and Fiona was with him! We went to get in line but it was closed. WE tried to explain this to DD but she got most upset. The 'handler' came ove and said 'Don't worry I'll make sure you get to see Fiona' and when everyone had finished he went over and had a word with Shrek and Fiona who came over to my DD and chatted for ages while the CM kept everyone else away! I know people on here think US hasn't got the 'magic' of WDW but THIS was the most magical thing of our entire trip! Even more amazing was that when we went back a week or so later Fiona was there again and we got in line to see her and Shrek. When we got to the front she said - 'Hello, you're Princess Gemma aren't you?' - She'd actually remembered my DD's name despite all the hundreds of kids she must have sen in between! I was in BITS!!!!!

I have to agree with a previous poster about Wendy on the family magic tour. She stayed in character perfectly all the time and kept saying how silly grown ups were with their picture thingies (meaning cameras), and teasing DS3 that she thought he might be a pirate and we should be careful. She made DD5 feel like the most special girl at MK, walking hand in hand to philarmagic and sitting with her. Truly magical.

By far it would have to be Peter Pan! Last summer we got in line to meet him and Wendy but were told that they would be leaving and the line was closed. I suppose the CM sw the disapointment oin my DD3 face. She told us to get at the end of the line. When it came to be her turn he took her by the hand and asked so many questions. She was (and still is) convinced that he is the real Peter! She can wait to meet him agian this summer. I only hope the same "Peter" is working that day.

When my son was 14 months old we went to CRT for breakfast. Up to that point my son had been intimidated and afraid of all of the characters. The first person to come to him that morning was Peter Pan and my son started to cry hysterically. We did not have high hopes. The next character to visit us was Belle. DH and I still talk about her. DS was entranced and she was wonderful!! She knelt beside him and spoke softly to him and then i picked him up to hold him for a picture standing next to her. He started to reach out for her and eventually was hanging out of my arms trying to get her. She graciously took him and held him and it was the most magical moment!!! I was surprised that she would hold him and was thrilled with the whole experience. She left us to finish her rounds to the other tables and came back to us at the end of our meal to talk to him again. It was truly a magical Disney moment and Belle was amazing!!!

Aladin, we met Aladin in Epcot. He was wonderful, he drew a picture of a flying carpet in my autograph book and talked to us for a fairly long time. He told my husband that I was a princess. It was lovely we still talk about it when we look through our memory books.
Mulan and Shan, we met them at Disney Studios, they signed the book and took a picture with us and then at the parade they saw me and waved. Very magical.
Dopey, at the 1900 Park Fare Breakfast. How very cute Dopey was! He kept coming up and giving me kisses and then he would faint!! We loved it.

I think the characters are some of the best memories from all of our trips.

On our first trip to WDW, our daughter was just more than 2 & 1/2. She was very shy around the characters at first. When we went to the character breakfast at O'Hana, the characters all seemed to understand her hesistancy. None came on too strong and Goofy quickly understood he probably shouldn't approach. Chip, however, was WONDERFUL. He took his time, approached carefully and even acted bashful himself. Thanks to him, our daughter warmed up to the characters and was ready when Mickey came by our table.

On that first trip, both Cinderella and Snow White got high marks from us as well. Actually, one of our reasons for going to WDW was our daughter's obsession with Snow White, but ... despite asking CMs and doing everything we could to find SW .... we nearly missed her. It wasn't until the last few minutes of our last day that we finally found Snow White and she was super w/ our daughter. She took her time, went gently, picked our daughter up, hugged her, spoke quietly. We don't really know what they talked about but our daughter really enjoyed it..

That search for Snow White led us to Cinderella, who was as perfectly gentle and kind as she is described in the story. She held our daughter on her lap and even kissed her. That kiss sealed the deal ... after that, our daughter switched her allegiance from Snow White to Cinderella and was completely obsessed with Cinderella for about 3 years.

I have to say that our most magical experience with a character was with Meeko. We found him outside the MK on Thanksgiving day 2003. He just played and joked with my DD6. They danced and played around and my DD still talks about Meeko. I hope we can find Meeko and Pocahontas on our trip this July.

we have so many good encounters with various characters it is hard to limit the stories, but i would have to say that two stand out more than the others.

firstly, we were at the meet and greet area at toontown, the princess area, and sleeping beauty was held up and didn't come in with the others. well the lines of people all stayed around waiting for her, one younger teen who was mentally challenged was waiting, and was pretty talkative, the mad hatter was there and he really did a good job of entertaining her, without ever seeming bothered or patronizing to her. it was really sweet, and my dw and were both touched, almost teary, to see him treat her so tenderly. i still regret not sending a letter to higher ups.

the second time was at the gg in epcot. we went to eat at offtime, in the afternoon, and were one of maybe five tables in the whole rest. mickey, minnie, chip and dale spent so much time with each guest, sitting down at tables, drawing and writing on children's menus and having as much fun with us as we all were with them. if you can hold out to eat at a character restaurant until between lunch and dinner, 3 to 5 in the afternoon, i think that you might find it to be most rewarding.

I've met so many characters that go above and beyond the call of duty, but I think that Belle is the nicest of them all. Last year, I was in France at EPCOT when I saw Belle in her library. There was quite a line for Belle so I waited in line, said hello, got a photo of her and let the kids behind me have more time with her. I went looking around the pavillion and when I checked my camera, I noticed that the photo of Belle did not turn out well since the light coming through the stained glass window caused the automatic flash to not go off. I went back to where Belle was and there was no line to see her. I explained what had happened and she kindly agreed to pose for another one. After the picture was taken, she reminded me to check to see if it turned out. I did and it turned out wonderfully. Aurora was nearby and after getting her picture, I asked her and Belle if they could pose for one together. They were happy to and after taking the photo, Belle and I checked together to see how it turned out. It was great fun to hang out with Belle and Aurora for a little while.
