Hi, we arrive on the 30th October for 5 nights staying at the new york. so excited, this will be our 2nd visit with our 5 year old daughter and 2 year old son. last time we went she was only 3 and he was only 4 mths so should be a lot different this time.

Is there many rides my 2 year old wont be able to go on. Im not into the rolla costers niether is my husband anyway so those are out and probably the tower of terror although I would love to have the bottle to go on it. Whats the phantom manor like, is it scary? would my 5 year old be scared on it?

I know this doesn't answer your questions but how did you find taking a baby? And what stuff did you manage to do? We're going a month today with our 3 yr old and will be 6month old x

As neither you or your husband like doing roller coasters anyway, I would think that you will be able to do all the other rides together as a family. My daughter was enjoying rides like Pirates of the Carribean when she was two.

This might be an exception - depends on how your daughter finds ghosty things generally. The figures at the end part of the ride are pretty creepy. Horrible parents that we are, we made our younger daughter go round with us when she was about 5 or 6. She went round the whole ride with my coat over her head and was very glad when it had finished!!

HI

It wasnt too bad at all, better than I thought. Obviously he couldnt go on any rides apart from "small world boat ride" He was fine watching the disney playhouse live show and stitch live and a couple of the others. MY husband and I took it in turns to go on most of the rides. We used to go into the park at 8 in the am when it was quiet and managed to go on buzz and peter pan which where my daugters favourites and just took it in turns, there was no queue either at that time. It was beginning of september as she hadnt quiet started Nursery so the park wasnt too busy. We also did baby switch on a couple of rides which is worth doing. I went on the ride with my daughter then as I got off she would stay on and my husband would jump on and I would stay with the baby.

We also hired a double buggy from a company before leaving home which was well worth it especially as she was only just 3 and got very tired.

As for feeding him that was easy for me as I hadnt started weaning him and I was breast feeding so didnt have to worry about taking formula sterilsing stuff etc. There seemed to be plenty of baby changing around, never found it a problem. The characters were great as well always making a fuss of him. We queued to have a photo with minnie mouse and she put her arms forward to grab the baby from me, I hesitated at first as I was scared she would drop her with her big hands! lol! But she cuddled him in and we had a lovely family photo with her. Lovely to keep!!

YOu will have a great time im sure!

At 2 he can do anything with out a height restriction may be tall enough for parachute drop depending how tall of a 2 year old you have (81cm is the restriction)

You will have a great time can't wait to hear all about it x

I thought they could go on more things than just small world :/ maybe i got it wrong!
I wish we were still bf as it stands we're having to taking washing up liquid, kettle, steriliser etc! Shouldn't be too much of a hassle though, never took them away before apart from for a weekend at the seaside so I'm abit nervous at all the stuff were going to need lol z

Ps lovely to hear that about Minnie I'd love a picture like that! We saw a really bad mickey at a charity thing but my oldest was nearly crying he was so in awe so I can't wait to see him with the characters!

Hes about 88cm so we should be ok for that ride, depends if I can be brave enough to go on it! lol!

Its surprising how much you need to take for them even at 2 I have a list of stuff to take. nappies, wipes, nappy sacks, fireman sam drinks bottle plus all the snacks and of course favourite teddies, ooh and the travel bedguard! just need to make sure I leave plenty of room for the goodies I hope to buy! :)

My DS likes phantom manor. He has been riding it since 3, he is 5 now. There is only one bit in it he doesn't like, there is a evil looking dog with red eyes that he hates....

He is a bit adventurous with rides, we just let him make up his own mind. He loves big thunder mountain, that was new for him last year. This time he wants to ride tower of terror?,. We have spoken to him and he knows that it will be a bit scary and if he doesn't like it he never has to do it again. Everyone will be judging us as evil parents when he comes off hysterical;) will report back next week.

The only thing he hated was Armageddon. And don't get me wrong he still loves small world and the tea cups....
