I was considering trying them, but all the schedule change threads have me holding back...that and one time I had overheard someone at Atlanta airport saying how much the Atlanta area hotels LOVE Airtran because they always overbook and cancel flights etc handing them sweet business....so looking for actual experiences please!

TIA,

Pam

We just flew Airtran out of Boston 2-26 and 3-4.
Our experience was fine. Flights were on time and no overbooking. Flight attendents were friendly and attentive.

The only glitch was one small bag didn't make the flight change we had in Baltimore.
They wound up driving it to our house from Boston to Brunswick........
Not a big deal, it was our toiletry bag.

They have XM radio on the flight, which was nice. Planes were clean.

But if you are flying nonstop the Atlanta problems should not affect you, right? We are flying Airtran nonstop in June from Dayton, OH. Our only other experience with them was a couple years ago and included a stop in Atlanta. We had major delays that day due to weather, but we still got to MCO just fine. We could have found some slightly cheaper flight arrangements than our nonstop, but the times are SO good, and nonstops save SO much time, that we think it's worth it. The times have only changed maybe twenty minutes since I booked a few months ago, and I'm sure they won't change all that much between now and June. There is always a nonstop morning DAY-MCO and an evening MCO-DAY, so we're set. Good luck ~
