Who's Gonna Have More Fun? Two PTR's for the Price of One!

Winter-Spring2011030.jpg

I have the exact same dress! I also have it in plain black, gray and a flower print from last year. It is an awesome dress! Super comfy. :thumbsup2

Okay, I love the dresses! They are all so cute! Shelly - how will you narrow it down (or will you?)

My DDs were very into them on our July trip! I don't do dresses. Want to know why? I have larger thighs and not enough space between them when I walk. This = chafing. I'd rather stick with lightweight shorts (not denim).

Jo - I see a lot of dark colors - will you be too warm? Maybe you should shop more...just saying...
I was :rotfl:at your over packing and not taking anything out but dresses. I've been known to pack things that never leave the suitcase too. I like to be prepared for all possibilities.

:lmao::lmao::lmao: This totally cracked me up! And I'm not laughing at you, but myself, because I was thinking the exact same thing and was too ashamed of myself to say it! I cannot believe you have that problem though b/c you are the perfect size in my opinion.

:) Awww, thanks Rinky!! It's just a few proportions that still need some adjusting and tweaking, but I can usually hide them with the proper wardrobe! ;) That is also why I hate walking around in a swim suit. I need some fabric there! I really should wear swim shorts, but they're not long enough, nor are they all that flattering on me. I prefer the look of the skirt bottoms with a tankini (long!) top.

But enough about me. I want to see all these shoes Shelly and Jo will be bringing to go with the dresses!

I love your PTR (s)!:goodvibes Can't wait for the TR!

P.S. - If you have time...can you check out my PTR? thanks dont have many (if any) readers...links in my signature...thanks SO much!:goodvibes

Morning girls!

Shelly-- my goodness girl I knew you had a lot of dresses but that's a LOT! Wooo hooooooo love it!!:cool1:
When I said you had to buy them it didn't take you long to get right to it.:lmao: I'm glad you took me so seriously.:rotfl2:
You should take them all for sure-- that way if you want to you can change twice a day. I do. ::yes:: Esp in the heat- you'll use them all I bet.

I love all of those dresses! My fave I think is the striped one. But I like them all! Do you have a favorite?

Okay well, my first shopping post isn't a shopping post but more of a "my experience in the heat last May and what I have already" post.:goodvibes

 I did take you seriously, didn't I?!

I had no intention of getting that many dresses, but as you know I kept coming across some great bargains that were too good to pass up! ::yes::

I am done now. Well unless I come across a yellow sundress. I still need one of those. :rotfl:

IDK which one is my favorite. I have only worn a few of them to church and to school. I do love the striped one, it is very light & comfortable. I also love the one Meghan quoted and the purple one. I love them all! :lovestruc

Wow, you weren't kidding when you said you did a little shopping! :rotfl: I don't blame you though. Anything you can do to stay cool is a must. And I love them all. I can even imagine which ones you will wear to which park. I think the brown/black one would be great for AK. And the ones with the tropical look will be perfect when you are staying at the Poly (or CBR for that matter). They are all cute though. I really like the pink paisley one, and the plaid. I so wish I could wear stuff like that. I used to... many years (and pounds) ago. Boy do I need to get back on my diet!

I hope they help me stay a little cooler!! :wizard: Too bad for the rest of the family they are stuck on shorts & shirts!

I was thinking the same thing about the dresses! I definitely want to save that tropical one for an evening at the poly! :thumbsup2

Hey ladies! I'm very late to the party but I have an excuse.....I've been to Walt Disney World! And, ahem, I'm in the stages of planning next year's trip. :rolleyes1

I've read through the plans and have promptly forgotten almost everything I wanted to comment on. I choose to blame that on my suffering from a head cold and being hopped up on sinus meds. and not due to old age. :rotfl:

I do remember that I wanted to say  on you both booking CL! I can't wait to see how you two liked it.

Oh and as far as wearing dresses in Disney goes, they really are much cooler. I took a couple this trip and it was so nice.

Hopefully, I can keep up with you two now that I'm caught up.

Welcome Lisa!! :goodvibes How was your trip? How was the weather? Did you stay at CBR the whole time or were you going to try POR for a few nights this time?

So you're planning next years trip already?!! You sound like me. Details please....popcorn::

Hope you feel better soon. :flower3:

Jo, I love all your dresses too! You girls are going to be styling! And congrats to you for downsizing! I am in no way a high maintenance kind of girl, but I do tend to over pack. I do it though b/c I am super frugal and always worried that if I don't pack it, I'll need it later, and then have to pay Disney prices for it! But I am getting better about it too. And I know your husband appreciates it as well. My DH says that I think he is a pack llama! :lmao: But in your defense, when you have a family of five, you can only narrow it down so much, especially when 3 of them are girls! :)

Isn't that a nice fitting dress? :goodvibes That one and the 2 below it are the same exact style (all from ON as you know!), just different colors/patterns. The one below those 3 came from ON as well. I'm not in love with it but it was on clearance for $5.08. Couldn't pass that up. :rotfl:

Thanks Sheree!

I think I will take all of them!! :upsidedow I am an over-packer and always come home from vacation with clothes that were never unpacked. But I like to have options. ::yes:: Plus it is going to be so stinking hot. :faint:

Chafing! You ladies are cracking me up!! :rotfl2:

I am the same way! Besides wanting to have options, I sure don't want to have to buy something there way overpriced!!

My DH got on me about the shoes last time. I think I'll take even more this time just to spite him!

Great dresses Jo! :goodvibes I can't wait to see your new ones!

I can't believe you cut back on the packing so much. :worship: You'll have to help me with that. I might be slightly high maintenance myself....:rolleyes1

Well I see you are still shopping this afternoon. When you told me you were going this morning I thought it sounded like a good idea and I went too! I only got stuff for the boys though. Can't wait to hear what you got!

Shelly - I can't believe all the cute dresses you've bought! I kept scrolling and scrolling, and they kept coming! And all under $20??? That is unbelievable! My favorite......hmmmmm.......that's a tough one.......well, I'm going to pick 2.......the red & white striped one and the blue one with the big flowers. But really, I like them all. I had never thought about dresses in WDW either. But it makes so much sense! I think they will be much cooler than shorts/shirts, especially the tank top and spagehtti strap styles. So there's a plus for going in the summer - you got to shop for a whole new trip wardrobe! :thumbsup2

I have a question about your shoes.......How do you find shoes that are cute but good for all the walking? I remember the pics of your shoes from last trip, and they were all really cute. Do you remember reading a TR where someone had some horrible blisters from their shoes? ;)

So what have the boys been doing in their first few days of summer?

Thanks Teri! :goodvibes Yep, I got some awesome deals on the dresses. That's why I couldn't stop!!

I have recently gotten some shoes that are both stylish and pretty comfortable for the trip. They will be coming up in another post. But you know me, I am used to walking in shoes with big heals!!

The boys have been playing a lot of video games and playing outside. And doing a little bit of reading. I took them to lunch and shopping earlier today. That's about it so far. We are having a Father's Day cook-out Friday night with my family and we are taking DH to Cabela's on Sunday. I hate that place!! But it is Father's Day not Mother's Day. :rotfl:

Jo - I thought I was an overpacker! 12 bags for 5 people?? That is a lot of luggage! Flashing people on the roller coaster! :rotfl2: You are so crazy!

I love the dresses you already have. I think I know what your favorite color to wear is. ;) My favorite one is the 2nd one down - so cute!

I have a question that I meant to ask Shelly, too. Do you pack for everyone, or do your kids and hubby do their own packing? It was very hard for me to give up the packing duties for my kids. ;) Since Mom is the only one who knows exactly what and how much to pack, right? I'll never forget when my DS started going on his mission trips to the Arizona Navaho reservation. He packed for a week in a Jansport backpack. I thought I would die of a heart attack. :scared1: How could he possibly have everything he needs? And he was going to look so wrinkled! :lmao:

The trip was great! We ended up staying at the CBR the entire time. The more I thought about the split stay, the more I didn't want to do it. We thought about trying something new next year but we really love the beaches at CBR and I can't make myself splurge on a deluxe. Our travel dates are May 23rd to June 2nd. Eleven glorious days of vacation!

Hey girls I'm Back! I'm trying to get supper together too while I write so I might have to leave quickly. Ya never know with me, when I might catch something on fire.....

Anyway- yes I've been shopping this afternoon and I swear to all that is holy (and some not so holy things, just for good measure...) I will not take the kids back into WM this summer!! By the time I got out of there I wanted to take a swing at someone. Or something. Or kick a dog or person or trash can.

Not that I'd do any of those things. I'm sweet ya know. But it was torture and I think I'd rather be placed on the rack and asked to give up my mama's handed down for generations secret family recipe for Thanksgiving dressing than to endure those two hours in my local Wal mart.

I am exhaustipated and no I haven't seen a doctor for it but I'm sure his remedy would include a long soak in the tub and a glass of the good stuff.

:faint:

Anywho--- just wanted to say I'm gonna reply to everyone as soon as I can calm down and catch my breath and make sure the kids are well adjusted and fed and junk. :goodvibes

I pack for everyone. Come on, I live with all boys and you know none of them would even know where to begin. I don't think they could even get to the airport without me!!

I don't recommend trying a deluxe, because then you will want to do it every time! :upsidedow

11 days?! WOW :woohoo:

Oh my!! :lmao:

Well you know how my last trip to WalMart went last weekend. I came out of there $190 poorer. :sad2: When the kids asked me today if we could go to WM when we left the mall I said -- are you kidding me??? :scared1::laughing:

So no, we did not go to WM today. I'm glad it was you enjoying it and not me!! :rotfl:

Did you get anything good? Go anywhere else?

Love all the dresses..and as any good Southern friend will tell ya, they ARE cooler!! As long as it isn't the itchy I loooove a cute dress!!! Yes,..my kids make me nuts in WM too!!!!! I ran today by myself and it took half the time!!

Thanks Shawna! :goodvibes Glad to have confirmation about the dresses from a great southern friend!! ;) And I made sure they were all lightweight and not itchy!

Yeah, I forget what it's like to go to WM with the kids since I usually go without them during the school year. Those dang kids are expensive!! :scared1::laughing:

So is it just WM in general or bringing the kids with you to WM that got to you? My sister and I have a running joke about WM. She absolutely hates it and won't go there unless there's a gun to her head (well maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration). I go, or used to go, several times a week. It has everything I need and the best prices. So I can stomach going there since I'm lazy and cheap. But lately, I'm slowly going over to her side. They remodeled the one by my house and no longer carry some of the things they used to have. The reason: the customers wanted wider aisles so they had to cut back on selection. Plus, I have noticed recently that WM is actually higher on some things than the small neighborhood grocery by me. So really, there's no good reason why I should have to shop there anymore. Target is just as close and just nicer overall. Every time I come out of WM, I use my pop-up anitbacterial wipes to de-Wal-Mart-ize myself.

I'm really interested in that Thanksgiving dressing recipe! Is it cornbread dressing? I love, love, love cornbread dressing and since my Mom died, it's been my assignment for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. It's not as good as hers, but it's getting a little better every year!

I hope your exhaustipation passes soon! ;)
