Oh my gosh..... you sound like my twin! Why do we do this to ourselves! I am the same way. I mean really, how can you NOT be prepared for a trip that you know has been coming for at least 6 months???? But you know what... it will be alright! When it gets down to the wire, I always start prioritizing... most important..... packing, least important.... cleaning house (no one's going to be there to see the mess anyway ) So I go for the necessities first, and do whatever else I can squeeze in. Somehow the house cleaning always gets nixed in the end.

Just try not to go into vacation in a tizzy. I always get so worked up and then get short tempered with my DH and DD right before we leave, and they just look at me like, "Do I really want to spent the next week with this insane woman in a tiny hotel room?" Not good! Sort of defeats the purpose of vacationing, family time, bonding, blah, blah, blah. Anyway, you'll be fine if you have to leave town without your house being perfect. Trust me, it WILL be there when you get back!

So take a deep breath (and maybe a sip of something relaxing )......... YOU'RE GOING TO DISNEY TOMORROW!!!!

It is so dumb-- I cannot for the life of me get motivated to do anything until I'm under the gun. I wish I could change. Alas, I cannot. I will be wound up until we get all the kids from school and are on the road. Once that happens, I will chill.

Jo - Glad to hear everything is coming together smoothly for you. You are going to have a wonderful time! It is all worth the planning and organizing you do for your family to make this trip happen.

We did have a wonderful time yesterday - we were privileged to have a private tour of the archives, and Walt's and family homes, first studios locations, his grave site, and to top it off, dinner at the Tam O'Shanter, Walt's favorite restaurant - and our tour guide was Disney Legend, Dave Smith, the founder of the Disney archives. We got to spend six hours with him, discussing Disney history, trivia, and seeing amazing memorabilia. I will put up some pics on the Mayer thread for you to see! We were all so grateful and appreciative to have this experience. Oh - and we did find out a very interesting thing: my son Chris is in the WDS archives! His video and various pictures from the Disney store catalog are preserved there. LOL!

Glad to hear that Shelly is having a great trip so far and is at the Poly now!!! I am so looking forward to hearing about your meet up and hope you take a few pics too, but, most of all is to have a awesome time and make some incredible memories!

Jo- So, I just signed up on D-Cot...what an AWESOME site!!!! I have been wanting to listen to WDW music, but could never find a website. I am sitting here listening to MK entrance music!

Yay! I am so glad you love it! I couldn't believe it when I found out about it either! I listen all day, most days.
On Sunday night, Mark hooked these ginormous speakers up to my laptop and blared MK music while he was packing. It was so funny.

5 Second update for you guys---



First- thank you so much for your calming words. All of you! I tend to be a bit, um..... high strung. Dramatic. And high maintenence all rolled into one 5'7" body. Only the strongest of strong can take the pressure of being friends with me. Congrats-- you're passing the test!


Okay so now--- what you're dying to hear----


Shelly made it to the Poly this morning!!!!!!!!!! She got her balcony and from the pic she sent, the view is good! She is enjoying herself as I type, just taking it all in and is so happy to be there.


Now back to my insanity--

Errands have been run. Had to go to the bank, target and Justice. Belle needed new PJ's. She'd outgrown all of hers!
Chicfila lunch on the run, Post office, bills paid and mailed.

Beau is ready for his Master to come home and take him to the doggie daycare we board him at.

Halfway done with cleaning--- getting ready to repack.
Told you I shouldn't have packed at all till today!

I'll be back when I finish a bit more!!

(Sea---- I jumped onto twitter to follow you for just a few minutes yesterday in between running around--- it looked so cool and I was so excited you got to see the Studios---!!! Congrats!!!)

Shelly sent me a pic today which may be the same one you got. It's her view from the Poly, but my crummy phone has such little pics it could be anything. I can't wait to see her actual pics on here when she does the TR. I texted her that you were keeping us updated but not spilling all the beans (in other words, driving us crazy with suspense! ). I'm so happy she got her balcony on the first try this year!

You did have quite a few errands to run today! I guessed on the bank and boarding. But shame on me for thinking you would board Beau at the vet's! Doggie daycare for him! It's funny, I was getting my hair cut today, and my stylist was telling me that she recently went to the beach with her family (parents and sister). Her parents had boarded their 2 dogs at a pet hotel type of place, and while they were at the beach, her dad would go online and could watch the dogs at the daycare! I had heard of that with human daycare before, but not pets!

I think when you get on that plane tomorrow, we are all going to hear a huge sigh of relief from you. The break-neck pace will be over, and the vacation on! Now I'll send you off with a "Laissez les bon temps rouler!!!" And I'm not calling you a lazy pooh or whatever it was you thought before!

Hope Mark's connection goes without a hitch. It can be a stressful thing under normal circumstances, but with the Disney trip so close it must be worse.

On the other hand, I would not worry at all about Katia. She seems very far away and on a path that won't take her close to land at all, at least not anywhere close to Florida.

Totally OT....but maybe when you get home we will have a change in the weather...we are suppose to get quite a bit of much needed rain here over the next few days and the next best part...highs of only 85!!! Hope Fl is a little cooler for y'all too...after all,...it IS September!!!!!

Wow that was quite the send off!!!

I just want to take a minute and thank each one of you for coming and spending time here with me and Shelly, helping us to count down to our trips. I appreciate it so much and I know Shelly does too.
I'm so sad the party here is over- but I know when I get back I'll have lots of tales to tell! (When DON'T I have tales to tell??? lol!)

I will check in with you all from my phone- I'm not taking the computer so I can't do long posts, but will try to check in once a day at least!
