Time to start packing!

I feel your pain! We were without power for 10 days after Gustav in 2008. And we were some of the lucky ones! Plenty of areas were out for several weeks. And it was in late August/early September and brutally hot. Keeping my fingers crossed for this year! So glad Irene wasn't as strong as expected!

omg 10 days we were without for 6 when Gloria hit in '85 so I am overjoyed we got our power back this time so quickly but still lost a months worth of food stuffs, oh well nothing that can not be replaced.

I've already had a cry this morning. I cry over everything but mostly when I'm stressed.

Well, I turned on D-Cot (it's awesome for disney music if you aren't on there you need to be) And I put on the Magic Kingdom Entrance Music Welcome Show-- you know where the train comes pulling up with the characters and the voice over the loudspeaker says "Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, Welcome to the Magic Kingdom!!".

I lost it.
It is going to be so not pretty when I arrive to the GF tomorrow night at dark- thirty. I'm planning on being a blubbering mess.



And just why am I so stressed? I do it to myself.
The house is not cleaned.
I still have last minute errands to run.
I still have a few things I need to get at Target (Sniiiiiiffffff the bathrooms as I pass thru--)
Drew hasn't packed yet.
I have laundry to do
oh and this little gem that I haven't shared with you yet....

Mark is, right at this moment, in California!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He isn't due in here until Midnight tonight. If he misses his flight today, we are sunk. The airport we're leaving from tomorrow is two hours away. We HAVE to leave the house at 1 pm to get the kids from school and get on the road.


Stressed? You bet!!!!!!!!!

Pray for me, give me your best thoughts, rain pixie dust down on me-- b/c I'm an insane person right now.









Oh yeah--- and have ya heard about that little storm named Katia? She doesn't sound so nice......

Just had a minute and wanted to check back and see whats going on with Jo & co. today!!! She must be wide-open getting it all done...probably on her way to get the kids and do their haircuts here shortly...I guess she's had her mani/pedi by now too!!! How fun!!! I love the anticipation of a great vacation!!

OMGosh if you knew how yesterday went......... It was a madhouse and today isn't looking any better.
The mani/pedi was good but I kept thinking okay hurry up Nancy and I had to be nonchalant so she'd not be stressed out and mess me up.
Kids cuts are cute! Belle's hair is a little shorter than I like, but it will be great for FL!

I am back to see you off on your trip!!! It was terrible being without power for almost 58 hours

Today is moving day!!!!!!!!!!!!

I told her yesterday she's gonna be like George and Weezy!!!


She can't wait to get to the Poly. I'm crossing fingers toes eyes--- everything--- that she gets what she wants and it is amazing for her!

After she gets settled, she'll be having dinner at Chef Mickeys and then it's off to the MK for the evening!!!!

Quit trying to be Wonder Woman - you don't have to accomplish everything on your list. So what if the house doesn't get cleaned? (easy for me to say ) I can't think of any errand that you haven't already run. I know hair is cut, nails are done, package is shipped. What's left? The bank would be the only thing that I can think of. Or maybe the vet's office. Are you boarding Beau Gator?

Drew will get packed, Mark will get home, Katia is a long way away and probably as unreliable as her sister Irene. Don't let her scare you!

Aww, I was just in Target yesterday and I still haven't sniffed the bathroom. I can't seem to remember to do that. Maybe I should add it on my grocery list as a reminder.

I thought it was about time for Shelly to move! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a smooth transition and all requests honored. THE POLY!!!!! I'm so excited for her!

Keep listening to your Disney music and try not to stress. It will all come together!

And one other thing. How pumped are you for the first game with the new coach??? I'll be pulling for y'all Saturday (if you pull for us ) I think we need more help than y'all will. Do you have all your game gear packed?

Ok Jo...you can do this! Start your laundry right now...clean thru each room as you need to starting in the one fartherest away from you...work your way into your Kitchen/dining room area....see how far you can get by the time the kids are home..Do you pick 'em up from school or do they bus home? If they bus...just stay home till they get there and clean allllll day.... Go Jo! Go Jo!!
When they get home add them to the cleaning mix....help Drew get started-maybe make him a list, then let him get to it and check it out afterward....go out for dinner and go to Target and errand running then-if any of it can wait that long..if not do it all when you pick up the kids if you have to get them. Maybe have Pizza delivered so you can maximize your time at home. I know it seems overwhelming today,especially because of Mark. For me, Mike running late makes everything else loom larger!!! That is just one thing you can't keep focusing on today. You do what you need to so that when he gets home tonight your stuff will be finished. At least you have till 1 tomorrow to leave. Our flights are always early mornings and we have to leave here before 6 to make it...so you really have quite a good chunk of time to pack your makeup, flat iron and last minute stuff!!
Make a GIANT list today and stick it on your luggage for last minute stuff like chargers, phones, kids stuff for airplane...usually, as I make a list I think of tiny things to add & see lots of things that I forgot to write down on list #1, but have already taken care of!! (If we had a smilie for a list, I would have used it, but teacher will have to suffice!!)
As for Katia....they don't even know where she's going yet...if it does come close to Florida it wont be till next week ....they are thinking she might not even come here with the forecast models. so I think you should't even worry about it. check on it Sunday night and see what the updates are...

Here's hoping the switch to the Poly goes smoothly for Shelly and Co. I know she's gonna be glad the move is over and she is able to relax for the rest of the trip!!! AAAHHHHHH Magic Kingdom!! I am a tad envious of that!! LOL...I am so excited for them.. I know it's not her FAVORITE park, but still...it's the MAGIC KINGDOM!!! I mean...wouldn't we all love to be strolling around over there right now!!One of my favorite sounds in the world, is walking around in the area of Tomorrowland at night...it's dark, the wind is usually blowing, and you can here the space-y music they pipe in and the people mover flowing over your head...man..I can just hear it right now!! Ok...Jo, if you talk to Shelly today, or when you get there...you have to go over there at night and listen for me!!!!!

5 Second update for you guys---



First- thank you so much for your calming words. All of you! I tend to be a bit, um..... high strung. Dramatic. And high maintenence all rolled into one 5'7" body. Only the strongest of strong can take the pressure of being friends with me. Congrats-- you're passing the test!


Okay so now--- what you're dying to hear----


Shelly made it to the Poly this morning!!!!!!!!!! She got her balcony and from the pic she sent, the view is good! She is enjoying herself as I type, just taking it all in and is so happy to be there.


Now back to my insanity--

Errands have been run. Had to go to the bank, target and Justice. Belle needed new PJ's. She'd outgrown all of hers!
Chicfila lunch on the run, Post office, bills paid and mailed.

Beau is ready for his Master to come home and take him to the doggie daycare we board him at.

Halfway done with cleaning--- getting ready to repack.
Told you I shouldn't have packed at all till today!

I'll be back when I finish a bit more!!

(Sea---- I jumped onto twitter to follow you for just a few minutes yesterday in between running around--- it looked so cool and I was so excited you got to see the Studios---!!! Congrats!!!)

Oh my gosh..... you sound like my twin! Why do we do this to ourselves! I am the same way. I mean really, how can you NOT be prepared for a trip that you know has been coming for at least 6 months???? But you know what... it will be alright! When it gets down to the wire, I always start prioritizing... most important..... packing, least important.... cleaning house (no one's going to be there to see the mess anyway ) So I go for the necessities first, and do whatever else I can squeeze in. Somehow the house cleaning always gets nixed in the end.

Just try not to go into vacation in a tizzy. I always get so worked up and then get short tempered with my DH and DD right before we leave, and they just look at me like, "Do I really want to spent the next week with this insane woman in a tiny hotel room?" Not good! Sort of defeats the purpose of vacationing, family time, bonding, blah, blah, blah. Anyway, you'll be fine if you have to leave town without your house being perfect. Trust me, it WILL be there when you get back!

So take a deep breath (and maybe a sip of something relaxing )......... YOU'RE GOING TO DISNEY TOMORROW!!!!

Jo - Glad to hear everything is coming together smoothly for you. You are going to have a wonderful time! It is all worth the planning and organizing you do for your family to make this trip happen.

We did have a wonderful time yesterday - we were privileged to have a private tour of the archives, and Walt's and family homes, first studios locations, his grave site, and to top it off, dinner at the Tam O'Shanter, Walt's favorite restaurant - and our tour guide was Disney Legend, Dave Smith, the founder of the Disney archives. We got to spend six hours with him, discussing Disney history, trivia, and seeing amazing memorabilia. I will put up some pics on the Mayer thread for you to see! We were all so grateful and appreciative to have this experience. Oh - and we did find out a very interesting thing: my son Chris is in the WDS archives! His video and various pictures from the Disney store catalog are preserved there. LOL!

Glad to hear that Shelly is having a great trip so far and is at the Poly now!!! I am so looking forward to hearing about your meet up and hope you take a few pics too, but, most of all is to have a awesome time and make some incredible memories!
