Did you look at that thread I sent you? Saying how the GF beach is not accessible because of walls. And yes, they are also saying that the path between the GF & Poly is closed. But on the Poly thread they are saying it is open....

Hey Shelly! Just checking in with you to make sure all is a go! You've got some steamy temps there on that forecast, but at least there's no hurricane involved. I hope your flight leaves as planned. I don't see why it couldn't though. It isn't supposed to even get here until Saturday, so surely you should be ok. It's looking more like it IS coming here though. Yesterday they were saying it might stay off our coast, but today it's back to making a direct hit. I hope they are wrong.

I sure hope you have a wonderful time! I'll go ahead and send you well wishes for good travel, great weather, and lots of pixie dust now in case I don't catch you again before you go! What time are you leaving tomorrow?

Happy 1 week to you too Jo! Looks like your temps might be a little cooler than Shelly's. I think the humidity is a bigger factor than temps though. Maybe it won't be too humid for either of you. We are FINALLY starting to have a few days here and there that aren't so humid around here, so maybe the fresher air is coming to Florida too.

For those of you who have a Dillards- their girls bathing suits are $6.99!!!!!!!! They were 50% off then another 30% off. I bought three for Belle, and some white shorts and a pair of capris for the plane for me. Also the women's bathing suits are the same-- 50%, then another 30% off. I found mine that I bought for this year-- I paid a TON of $$ at a boutique--- they had it for around $60.

Cranes and walls on the beach and the path blocked off. I can't believe it. Between all that and the construction at MK it seems that we have chosen the worst time ever to stay at a monorail resort!!

It looks like you'll have to drive over for your Dole Whips. Or take the monorail the whole way around. Good grief.


It's okay. We'll make the most of it and have a great time!! Right?!

That's a big bummer about all that construction! Didn't they know you guys had special plans for using that path?

I seem to recall a discussion a while back (was it even here?) that they were going to be having wristbands for the pool at Poly (Was it?) Gosh my memory is bad. I know I meant to chime in and say that they do it at Stormalong Bay for BC/YC and it does keep people from pool hopping. I think they should all do that! Even DVC members can't pool hop at a few of the resorts, BC/YC included. Anywho...carry on.

Shelly, I just heard on Fox News that they are canceling flights for tomorrow. I was just wondering if you have heard anything about yours. I'm confused as to why they are doing that? Can't they just take a more inland route than following the coastline??? I hope your flight is not affected! I would think if you haven't heard anything by now though, that you should be good to go.

Jo, they didn't give specific airport locations. They just said some "east coast" flights were being cancelled starting tomorrow. I hope Shelly's isn't included in whatever they were talking about. It must not be, or I think we would have heard from her by now.

I haven't heard from Shelly yet this morning. Last time I talked to her was last nite at 8 pm and everything was still on schedule. I'm sure if there were any delays I'd be hearing about it.

I have to leave in a bit to go get my hair done. No big drastic cut ala Shelly. I'm too chicken.

She said she'd let me know when they get there, so as soon as I hear something, I'll let you know.

Jo, when we've counted y'all down, the time seemed to fly by. But I'm afraid the time is going to drag when we're waiting for y'all to come home.

I have high hopes that the hurricane will have no effect at all on Shelly's trip. I pray that the same is true for all of you anywhere along the east coast.
