Only 1 day and you will be in the most wonderfull place in the world.

While you are getting your last minute things done in order to leave tomorrow morning, I am heading out to the store later to stock up on some provisions in case Irene does hit us.

I will think of you down there while we are hunker'in down the outdoor stuff that might blow away

The worse we ever got hit was back in the 80's when we were without power for 6 days. Don't live in the same town anymore so I am hopeing if the storm hits us it will not be as bad.

Have a safe and uneventful flight tomorrow and will be waiting to hear all about your trip when you get back.

Stay safe Sheila! I haven't tracked Irene yet today, but I sure hope it misses you!

ONE DAY AND ONE WEEK!!!



That definitely calls for a party!
I saw this morning that the Bahamas are getting hit hard, hopefully it will pass further east and north of Orlando so you don't have too much to worry about. That rain forecast is always a possibility in FL this time of year. It's rarely a full day washout rain, just a short storm or shower in the afternoon is typical. And it may rain in Epcot, but not at MK. You might just get lucky!

I feel bad for the cruisers though. that would definitely suck. This is why I don't cruise during hurricane season. That and the fact that I like summer and fall in MN, I need to leave in winter!

If I don't get back here today, I want to wish you a wonderful, magical, hopefully DRY, trip Shelly!!! I know your flight will be painless, arrival will be quick and easy and you'll get to check in early. How do I know this? It's a very special day tomorrow! Since it's my birthday, I get to ask for what ever I want, and that's what I want for you. What could go wrong? (don't answer that!) HAVE FUN!!!!!

I heard that the airlines are letting people flying into the Bahamas today or tomorrow reschedule at no charge. It must be bad.

Thanks for using your birthday wish on me!! Wonderful, magical, dry, and easy is how I would love to be able to report this trip went when we get back.

DH was watching something and they were showing Atlantis Resort with people all bedded down on the floors

The are talking possible evacuations along the Ct coast if Irene continues on her direct path here, we are 35miles inland so no worries with that but we could still be in for quite a hit unless it gets downgraded (I hope) to a cat 1

I hope you can fly out at planned. I would be a nervous wreck worrying about being able to get booked on another flight if they should cancel, and I can not imagine having to deal with your DS's disappointment.

I've always wanted to see DL, plus there are other places out there that we would like to see/visit also. I am going to start doing some more research after this trip.

My dad is doing better, thank you for asking! He was declared cancer free last year. We had a bit of a scare recently, but all is well now. . He alsonhad, about a month ago, a stroke in his eye, which I have never heard of. He had a laser treatment yesterday, and all is well with that know as well. So, it is good news right now.

I might be on the DIS later, but if I'm not, have an amazing trip!

Hey Shelly! Just checking in with you to make sure all is a go! You've got some steamy temps there on that forecast, but at least there's no hurricane involved. I hope your flight leaves as planned. I don't see why it couldn't though. It isn't supposed to even get here until Saturday, so surely you should be ok. It's looking more like it IS coming here though. Yesterday they were saying it might stay off our coast, but today it's back to making a direct hit. I hope they are wrong.
