Well that's true, at least I still have time to rearrange things!

Well, I'm glad you were adult about it and admitted your DH was right! (something I could use some work in) I know how you hoped to go with the one checked bag, especially after you worked so hard trying to do the trip up the right way while still finding the best deals out there. That baggage fee is such a rip-off, too. But this is the time to bite the bullet and choose comfort over cost. You'll be glad you did!

Yeah, I usually don't admit when DH is right either!! But I figure he is probably going to end up picking up the bags a time or two trying to help us out, so it is probably better if they are lighter. But yes, you know me so well -- always trying to save a buck!

Jo, I wouldn't worry too much about packing. There are the plan-aheads (Shelly) and there are the last-minutes ( just sayin'). Wouldn't the world be boring if everyone was the same? And no, you don't need another week. You will do it when you're ready, another week or not! I used to say sometimes, "I wish I had one more day to....." But no, that just meant it would be one day later that I was saying, "I wish I had one more day to....."

Although I wouldn't wait TOO much longer to pack.

You're right of course. I can always wish for One more day........ it's never enough. Besides, I work well under pressure.

I just know that I have all of that stuff packed and I'm gonna end up pulling it all out three times between now and then saying that I don't need all of this.... and at the last minute, I'll end up tossing all of it (and more!) back into the dang bag. I'm so awful.

Well I'm so glad to hear that some clothes actually made it into the suitcases!!

DH threw a wrench into my packing last night! You know how hard I have been trying to squeeze everything into 4 carry-ons and 1 checked bag??? Well I think it is going to work. The trouble is that they are all crammed FULL and very heavy. DH told me to stop being so cheap and plan on taking another checked bag. He thinks that our bags are going to be so heavy and with him not being able to carry and lift them that we should make them lighter. And I guess he's probably right. Even if we get as much help as possible with the luggage, there are still going to be plenty of times that the kids and I are going to have to lift & carry them.

So, I may be doing some REpacking today.....

Welll...... hum. Make the best of it and fill that bad boy to the brim as well.

Ah to be on Soarin'. The best feeling is taking your flip flops off and wiggling your piggies and coming right back to land at your shoes where you left them..... My kids think it's magic.

I had to check out InAccuWeather to see what you were talking about. I didn't know there was anything brewing in the tropics. But have no fear!! I can guarantee you there won't be any hurricanes over Labor Day. How do I know this? Well, because LSU is playing their first game in Dallas, TX in an indoor stadium this year! It seems that every year we are sweating out the first home game because there is a tropical depression, or storm, or hurricane which might make its way into the Gulf about Monday of Game Week. So, of course, this year the Gulf will be free and clear of any disturbances because our first game is away.

Now if this scientific theory doesn't pan out, I'm sure there are some Swamp People I can call upon to put the Hoo Doo voodoo on Mother Nature. I can go outside (stepping over the alligators in my back yard), get in my pirogue, paddle down the bayou, and find someone who can do the job. I'll tell them my good friend Jo is a Gator-lover and really needs the favor!
