Who's Gonna Have More Fun? Two PTR's for the Price of One!

Shelly - Thanks for the link gonna go pull it up right now :yay:

It is beautiful here too today as was yesterday. I am waiting on DH then were heading out to the store, although I shouldn't be long I checked on a package I am waiting on and it looks as if it should come today so I need to get back by early afternoon.

Talk in a bit - Yesterday my new duffle bag for the trip came DH thinks it is ugly but he hates my new suitcase I bought last year and the duffle matches it (Zebra Print) :rotfl:

Hope the review helps!

Have fun today! I got a new bag for the trip last weekend. I will have to post a pic soon. It's black with pink polka dots!!

There was a certain rather tall feline involved, IIRC. Oh my gosh, I sound like I'm not playing with a full deck. I'll have to go back and look for it. I just don't want you to leave out that special pic!

(Sorry about the poor job of quoting....I never seem to get it right.)

It took me awhile but I think I figured out what you are talking about!! I was not getting it because I was thinking about last years trip only. Then I remember this from the year before - is this it???

LOL DH did not like the photo of the chicken at all because of the white sauce with the peppers , he does not do white foods anyhow your pic of the tables near the water jogged my memory and I remembered just recently I read a review of SAI and found out unless your a party of 6 you can not be seated by the water it is all what they call 6 Tops and they save it for larger parties , does not seem fair to me but such is life :rolleyes1

I would love to see your new bag, I just love shopping for trips :goodvibes

BTW love the pic with Tigger, it looks like you two had the park to yourselves that day

Ding! Ding! Ding! :tigger: That's the one!

I just love that picture! It's so sweet and a just a very special captured moment. Kudos to whoever was quick with the camera. :thumbsup2

Thank you for trying to figure out what I was thinking!

Hey everyone!
I'm so sorry I ditched you on Friday- I had quite the experience- :faint:
So much to do, so little time. And no Ms Priss, I wasn't shopping at the mall. (Wish I had've been...:rotfl2:)
I went to cash a check at the bank and they shorted me $100-- and I didn't know it until I got home, hours later. It was a big fiasco but they gave me the $$ back. Whew.

Looks like ya'll had fun without me anyway.:goodvibes
I think that is the one attraction that we haven't done either. That and Stitch may be the only things we have never been on at WDW. But something tells me we aren't missing anything. :rolleyes1 We might try UoE next time, but I have to say I'm not expecting much. Maybe I've been putting it off b/c I am not a fan of Ellen at all. Or maybe it's because nearly every comment I have ever read about UoE was something like... "45 minutes of my life that I will never get back!" :rotfl: Those sorts of things just haven't had me racing to get in line for that one! Oh! And we haven't done Captain EO yet either. I forgot about that! But after Shelly's review of it last year.... I'm not in any hurry to try that one as well.

I remember EO from when I was a kid-- My kids are looking forward to seeing it. I have to warn them not to expect much----
as far as UoE- I've never done it either b/c of the length. But I'm thinking in 100 degrees I'm gonna love it.

WOW Jo - Epcot was good to you! I love it too.

There's still a lot of things we haven't done- some we never will just because we don't like certain types of rides.

our weekend is consumed by dance recitals! Tonight is dress rehearsals and one DD is on Saturday night, another is on Sunday night. Usually they try to keep the siblings together, but we were the unlucky family this year. They have multiple classes at each level/age group so they put them in different recital times and then the competition lines are in all of them.

But it's supposed to be gorgeous here after today, so I hope to spend some time outside enjoying the weather! It's been rare to have two nice weekend days!

Hope your recitals were fun!

Shelly, I stumbled upon this while I was doing some research today and thought I would share it with you. I thought it was very interesting! I had never seen a map of just TSI before. Maybe you can figure out where you went last time and how to get to what you missed. :thumbsup2

TomSawyerIslandMap.jpg

Thank you so much for posting this! :worship: we missed the whole left section too!!! I saved it so we will use it-- thanks again!

My favorite pic ever of you !! It's so sweet--- I hope it's framed in your house somewhere.

Great review of Epcot!!!!! I love the pics of the boys-- they were having so much fun at the concert!:lovestruc

The passports are so cool--
and like you, I'm thinking that the movies will be our very best friends on this trip.:lmao:

Well except the Canada one-- it makes me ill-- that circle vision thing is not for me.

So-- where to next? What shall we talk about????:confused3

Well then my pics probably weren't a big help, were they? :upsidedow

That stinks about those tables by the water. What made me mad was how they sat empty nearly the entire time we were there but we couldn't have one.

I'll have to get a pic of my bag up for you!!

That was the day in Nov 2009 when Tigger grabbed my hand and started running away with me. It was pretty funny!

Ding! Ding! Ding! :tigger: That's the one!

It took me awhile, but I finally remembered what you were talking about!

DS12 was quick on the draw with his camera that day! :)

Well there you are stranger!! Sounds like quite the ordeal you had. :scared1: Glad you got your money back!

You can understand why I thought you ditched us for the mall though, right?! :rotfl:

Have you been watching the live Poly Cam??? It is awesome. :lovestruc He has it set up on his balcony today.

Thanks! I actually forgot all about that picture until Teri mentioned it.

Yep, the boys had a blast that night at Epcot! :cool1:

Is the China film circle vision too? I think it might be. IDK how much I would like that. :scared:

Well -- I think we should talk about my favorite park next!! :yay: What do you think?!

Great! Tell us about DHS next! popcorn::

As always, I love all your Epcot pictures, Shelly. Especially that Tigger one! :goodvibes

Wow--- you're in Belgium!!! He lived in Mons I believe--- his Dad was AF, this was a long time ago, though. He is always wanting to go back and take us to see it all again. I'd love to do that too. When will you get to leave Belgium?

Yep, same place we are. ::yes:: My boys must be at the same school your DH went to! You really should come visit. :cheer2: We are scheduled to leave summer of next year, but we're trying to get an extension for another year. :thumbsup2

Good morning!

Who wants to talk about Disney's Hollywood Studios today??? I know I do!! :cool1:

I just love everything about this park! The rides, the shows, the atmosphere, all of it! :lovestruc It was on our second trip that I found my love for DHS. I can't really put my finger on what it was that happened, I just remember walking into the park and smiling and saying out loud – I just love this place! And it was on that trip that DS12 was tall enough for RNRC and we found our favorite ride in the whole world!!

Sci-Fi Dine In is one of our favorite WDW restaurants. I will say however that the CS choices at DHS are a little lacking. But we will talk about DHS food later!

We hope to see Fantasmic this trip. We haven't seen it since January 2009. The last two trips it has gotten put aside for the Osborne Lights. So we are looking forward to seeing Fantasmic again and the new Star Tours very much. We will probably see either the Indy Stunt Show or the LMA Stunt Show...I doubt we will see both in all the heat. We will definitely hit RNRC, TOT, TSM, GMR, & Muppet Vision!

We will go to DHS twice on this trip and I can't wait to get there!!!

Your pictures are great! DHS is 3rd on my list of favorite parks as of now I have 2 Mornings planned at DHS and possibly 1 evening if they add a 2nd show of Fantasmic! during our stay if not we will be skipping the show and the night at the park I think. Staying so close to it we might hop over there some afternoon or evening if the mood strikes us but in October DHS is only open until 7pm except for Sun & Thur nights which are F! and EMH nights :scared1: It scares me of how busy the park will be I know in 2009 we went on a F! day and ran from there after about an hour or so.

For me, DHS and AK tie for third place on my list of favorite parks. My DH though absolutely loves it. I love the fact that it is smaller and doesn't wear us out so bad, but most of the attractions are either too daring for me or more of a man thing (like the stunt shows). I do like going there, but once a trip is enough for me. If I wasn't such a chicken, I'd like it better. I just can't bring myself to ride ToT, and I haven't done RnRC yet either (although I might when DD is tall enough). And I just realized that we have never done the Backlot Tour. I noticed you had that high on your list of favorites. What exactly is that ride like? And one thing that we did last time that I thought was fun was the drawing class. Have you guys done that before? You really need to go see B&tB this time. It is so well done. Yes, it has a lot of pink dresses and twirling ladies, but I think your boys and DH might actually like it if they would give it a try (even if they don't admit it!). ;) After all, it does have several characters with lots of testosterone too!

Good Morning Shelly and Jodi!:goodvibes
Shelly- Great DHS update! I love that park too. We had a quick trip (4 nights, 5 days) a few weeks ago, and we only went to DHS for one afternoon/evening. I wish we had more time there! I plan to at least spend a full day there in October when we go back! I loved seeing your pictures!:lovestruc
DD17's graduation party went off great last night! I took today off...people stayed over until pretty late, and then we had to clean up. We had a blast!
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Good Morning everyone!

Hope all is well with you today---
I have two of the three kiddos at home with me today. Drew is here b/c he hates field day and MC is here b/c she has finals this week. I think we will head to the pool in just a bit since it's supposed to be hotter than the face of the sun today.:goodvibes

Shelly--- what a wonderful DHS post!! Love it!! I know I say that I don't "love" DHS as much as MK and Epcot, but I do love it when I am there in the park!:lmao: Your pictures are so good-- I'm glad you are thinking of doing Fantasmic this year. It is good to change up the shows that you see. And yes, you do have to go see BATB. :lovestruc Tell the boys that Drew likes it okay-- they can suffer thru it for 30 minutes for their mama. It will keep them entertained definitely.

You have definitely done more than me in that park- but I'm hoping to have lots of uninterrupted time there in September.:cloud9:

Thanks for the WDW fix this morning!:wizard:

Well the kids are ready to go--- I have to get my suit on!
I will do my DHS post probably tomorrow, but will check in from the pool in a little bit!:goodvibes

Thanks Sheila! :goodvibes

That was our experience in 2009 too. I think because they had just gone from showing Fantasmic every night down to only 2 nights a week. So F! days were horrible. I think they spread it out a bit more now maybe and people are more used to the schedule and maybe it's not quite as bad. At least it hasn't been for us. We were at DHS on a F! night in November and and it wasn't crowded at all.

You will enjoy staying so close!

I think that is one of the things I love about it too - how it is smaller and so easy to get around in. Well that and I love all the shows & rides!! I hope your DD is tall enough next time and you guys give RNRC a try! :thumbsup2

I like the Backlot Tour. I guess back in the day it was much better though. So most people who experienced it back then think it is pretty lame now. I guess I don't know any better so I think it is pretty cool the way it is! :rotfl: First you watch a show - they pick 3 people from the crowd beforehand to be in the show and it is basically showing you how special effects are done in the movies. DH was chosen to be in it once and it was hilarious. Then you walk though a warehouse type thing with a bunch of props and then you board a tram and you get to see a bunch more cool things. You should definitely try it!

We have never done the drawing class. :confused3 IDK why. The kids love to draw. It's just gotten overlooked I guess. I'm thinking a nice hot day this summer will be a good time to do it! ::yes::

IDK if I can talk the boys into B&TB or not. Getting them to do the Little Mermaid was pretty challenging!

Okay I'll tell the boys, but I still don't know if they'll go for it. :rotfl: I bet they would like it, but would just be way too cool to ever say so.

Have fun at the pool!:cool1:

Since we are talking DHS-
The wait times right now for RNRC are at 20 minutes ! Anyone wanna go??

:)

We are at the pool now and I am roasting.

Well, Shelly, you know there are ways of getting the boys to do something you want them to do! :rotfl2:

Great DHS update! Boy, you and Jodi are moving along quickly with the PTR. :thumbsup2 You took some great pics! It looks like you had very good seats for Fantasmic! And I just love the pics of the Osborne Lights. I sure hope to see that one day.

Hi everybody!

Great update, photos and reports on Epcot and DHS Shelly and Jo!

I have to say, Epcot is a family favorite of ours. It has been our "last park" trip hours before we board the plane back home. It has this power that just "grabs you" as you walk into the turnstiles. You just want to explore, see, taste and experience everything it has to offer. It is magnetic!

The largeness and expanse of it, is both overwhelming, yet inviting. There are just so many places to seek and find hidden treasures for your senses. For a photographer, like myself, it is a dream place to photograph and experiment with all the different things your eye finds. I love that place!

Thanks for sharing!
