Who's Going Mid May???

We are going May 14-17 mid week leaving on Saturday 17th late afternoon. We love this time of year as it had been historically a "slower" time, less crowds, less kids. I think Easter & Spring break/recess should be well past by then (we do not have children, so we are not up to date on those times). I'm hoping by going mid week, mid May and b4 Memorial Day it will be less crowded. Anyone else going that time???

We will be checking in when your checking out. We will be there May 17-23. Last year we were there the 20-26 so this year I will make sure we are gone by the Friday before Memorial Day. It was awfully crowded then. The beginning part of the week was very pleasant both crowds and weather.

May 15 -23 for us. We've never been in May and are looking forward to it, especially after this year's cold, long Vermont winter (-25 forecast later in the week - and that's NOT the wind chill).

We are checking out the 23rd to beat the Memorial Day crowds too.

Bryan, we are seriously considering switching to CSR!

Hi, we'll be down there May 23 thru the 31st also. We've always gone the week before Memorial Day and never had that much trouble with crowds, so should be interesting to see the difference.

I am going to orlando May 3-18!!! Woo Hoo!! Two weeks in central Florida. The first coupld days I am going to Sarasota and Clearwater and then have 4 nights at Universal's Portofino Bay Hotel for the first time and then a bit over a week at WDW.

May 9 - May 13 for us. Second time for us this time of year. We love it. Crowds are great as is the weather.

May 17th - 23rd for us! Now I just need those discounts so I know where to stay!!! We're thinking of Swan for 3 or 4 nights and perhaps GF for 2 or 3.

I'll be in WDW May 17-20. I was also there last May (the 15-19), and I found the crowds to be pretty manageable (except the MK on Saturday).

We were up in Vermont a couple of weeks ago, and man was it COLD! DW's folks live way up in Newport (right up by Canada). Vermont is a lovely state

Tina and DisneyFan79: We'll see you there. We are leaving our house May 16 arriving in DW on the 17th to 23 too. We're also waiting on the codes although we have ressies at HIFS I may switch. I'd really love to stay at the WL.

Looks like a lot of us are trying to beat the Memorial Day rush. beautybelle, what does HIFS stand for? Hampton Inn? I hope the weather and the crowds will be just as good as last year. I really can't wait.

Our first time in May also. We check in May 7 and will be there until May 12th. I am trying to get Dh to stay at CS, but he is leaning towards ASMu.

2yoa dd is so looking forward to the pool and the sand. She loves outside and it's just been too cold to do anything outside.

I hope some discounts come out soon. I have been patient so far, but it's getting old. One plus is that they just came out with discounts for FW. Maybe the others will be out soon too.

DisneyFan79: HIFS is Holiday Inn Family Suites it has great reviews but my heart is at the WL. Did u go in May last year? I hope its better than August. We went in August of 2001 and it was plain miserable. We had a terrible time and it was our first trip to Disney, my hubby says we'll try it one more time but if it isnt any better we wont be going back. So i'm really hoping that its better in May.

Yes I went last May. As long as you are gone before the Friday before Memorial Day you should not have a problem. We left on a Monday and every park was great until that Friday. The MK was mobbed. I would definitely tell your hubby to give it one more chance. I believe he will enjoy himself a lot more with the smaller crowds. I would also recommend staying onsite that way no one has to drive onsite everyday to get to the parks. You will feel the Disney Magic 24hours a day while your there. Hope this helps!!!

I will be crossing my fingers that when you (we) go it will be very pleasant and the crowds will be managable.

We'll be there May 8th-12th...Yippee!! It will be a short weekend trip for me and my husband, my sis and my mom-we all have APs and want to put them to use before the summer crowds! I too am eagerly waiting for codes...hope to stay at CBR!
