Who's going in October and what are you planning?

We are so excited to be going in October this year. I haven't gone in October since I was about 4 years old.

DH has always wanted to go in October since his birthday is on Halloween and he loves everything Halloween. So we are very excited to be attending our first MNSSHP and the Food and Wine Festival! And it's not Disney related, but we also plan on going to Universal since I haven't been there in 10 years and DH has never been, so that will also be something new.

We're booked at SSR from October 17 - 24 and waitlisted at AKV savannah view. We plan on booking the 15th and 16th at Universal.

We are ging 10/30-11/6 and I can't wait either. We are in BLT 1bdrm Lkvw the 30th- the 3rd. Then where ever is available in Sept when i can use my points in holding. I figure either SSR or OKW, both of which we have stayed at before and enjoyed. This is our make-up trip from Dec when DH couldn't come due to being emergency personnel during our first big storm of the season. We are going to MNSSHP and NOT getting AP's or Park Hoppers which will be new for us. And DS is all about seeing Boys 2 Men at the F&W festival.

Planning on keeping our late October reservation at BCV. (Medical reasons w/family members).

Plenty of firsts for us.

DH and I for the first time without the kiddies (not kiddies anymore).
First time during F&W.

Raglan Road for dinner and
LeCellier for lunch (could not get dinner).

Planning on booking the Keys to the Kingdom tour soon also.

My DH and I are taking our DGD for her 1st Disney trip.:yay: We will be there Oct.13-17. She will be 5 by then. We have gone in Oct many times over the years as it is our favorite time to be there. Having 3 grown boys, it has been a while since I spent much time in Fantasyland! :rotfl2: Sadly, IASW will be closed while we are there so she will not be able to ride that. Oh well, next time.
During our trip this past Jan we had dinner at OHana and were able to watch Wishes from our table. Very cool. We'd love to do that again. I'm usually a big planner, however, planning a trip with a 5yr old girl is such a departure, I'm at a bit of a loss. Any suggestions?

Your DGD is the perfect age for WDW. That's how old our son was when we first took him. I'd plan exactly the same way you would normally do just keeping in mind things like does she nap? Does she eat dinner early or late. If you "try" and keep to a semi normal routine (Yeah sure; in WDW :)) you'll be fine. You'll have a wonderful time regardless.....:lovestruc

We will be there from October 8-12 and we are getting married!!! YAY for ME ooh and him too!!!

Oh congratulations!!! How wonderful; a Disney wedding!!! Will you be getting married at the Pavillion?

First DVC trip and the first with just the two of us, 3rd-8th, staying at OKW. Doing MNSSHP, F&W, Victoria & Albert's, Le Cellier, Spirit of Aloha, Backstage Magic Tour, Around the World Epcot Segway Tour and more.

Congratulations on your first DVC Trip! You'll see everything so differently without the children. First time DH and I went alone it felt very strange. Now...it's like we've been doing it forever. Enjoy!!

You will LOVE the Food and Wine Festival. That's one of the reasons I go that time of year. Le Cellier for lunch is just as good. We've done that a few times when dinner ressies were impossible to get. Enjoy!!

DH and I will be going October 14-18th for a BCV/BWV split stay and also our first DVC stay. Actually this will be a trip of many firsts as we are focusing this trip on things we have not done before like:
MNSSHP and The F&W festival we are also eating at all new restaurants like The fountain, O'hana, and Cape May Cafe, and spending a ton of time at the pools which we weren't able to do with the cold weather this past January!! I can't wait I am so excited!!!!!

We're going in October!! What am I doing? Turning 50!! :cool1:

Aside from that, we're staying 7 nights at AKL (2 nights concierge and doing the Sunrise Safari, the rest at Kidani Village), and then 4 nights at BLT!! Had to try out both new resorts. We'll be enjoying a lot of the F&W Festival, and plan to spend a day at "that other theme park" to see their new :wizard: 'World'. Really hoping to make this a relaxing trip.
Presents welcome!! :rotfl2:

DS (8yo) and I will be making our 2nd annual Mom/Son trip to the World. It will be our first F&W and MNSSHP. We are both dressing up which should be a hoot. We are also going to the Hoop Dee Doo which will also be a first. We are staying at SSR Oct 11-18th and can't wait! :cool1:

How nice! Mommy and Son....I can't get my son near WDW anymore. :sad2: He's 20 and unlike his mom, he's kinda lost the "magic". But I sure have enough for him, myself and my husband!! LOL...You'll have a blast at MNSSHP. What are you two dressing up as?? I've thought about dressing up, but sometimes October can be warm. Actually one year it was darn right hot!! And I was uncomfortable in my shorts so I could imagine how I'd feel in a costume. So I enjoy looking at others and just take in all the fun. Love SSR. Have you stayed there before??

It's sooo cool spending a birthday at WDW. This is the first year I won't be there for my birthday cause we're doing some reno's on the house. Don't forget to get your "Birthday Button" when you check in!!! :thumbsup2

We are making our very first WDW trip this October. We are staying OKW from the 15th-22nd, then AKV/Kidani from the 22-25th. I'm thinking of adding an OKW studio on the 14th since we would arrive late that night and I don't want to use too many extra points since we arrive so late. I'm totally overwhelmed with planning, but I figure that I'll have most of it figured out by October. We can't wait!!!! We will be celebrating DH's birthday and our 13th Anniversary.

October 1's MNSSHP, that's what I'm looking forward to doing! On the second we do the AK's Wildlife Expedition. On Sunday, I'm looking forward to meeting Simba's Mom, for dinner at the Cape May Cafe!

It's just a short trip, 5 nights for me, only 3 for DH, but we have lots to look forward to!!! I'm sure we'll be tasting some of the F&W offerings as well!!!

Isn't planning fun? My husband thinks I'm nuts when I begin planning my next trip right after returning from WDW!

Is this your first trip to WDW?? If so have a magical time and Happy Anniversary and Happy Birthday to DH!! :cheer2:

I agree...my kids have gone numerous times and my oldest isn't even 3 yet! I just keep them on the same schedule they are at home (within reason) when it comes to bedtimes, meals and naps. It works out great and no cranky kids..the break at the hotel in the afternoon for swimming or nap works wonders!

We are also going in Oct for the first time....10/6-10/15. The first two nights we are at AKL and then on to WL. We wanted to whole time at WL but since my inlaws are coming too, and that means two more studios, I was short on points. No worries though.
We are doing HDDR for the first time since 96 and MNSSHP on the 12th, also a first. A couple of new TS for us are Chef Mickey's and 1900 for dinner. We are also hoping to get my daughter's first haircut in MK like we did with my son in 09. Can't wait!! :wizard:

Congrats on your "mommy only" trip! What a wonderful idea.... can you tell my DH about that, so I can get one too?
We are going in October, staying at SSR. First part of the trip my Grandparents will be there, second part of the trip my parents will be there.
I am excited to show my Grandparents all the free/cheap things to do. They enjoy going to look around different resorts. We will go with them to Hollywood Studios for all the sit down shows.
My parents on the other hand want to do all the wild, crazy and expensive things.
DS just started taking some independent steps, so I hope by Oct he'll be getting around good.
We usually plan like crazy... but hope to just to have fun and enjoy the trip this time.

Have fun!
Jen

We are heading down Oct 16 to Oct 22. We are taking our mothers and are meeting my sister down there since she lives in Sanford. I hope I can survive a week staying at WDW with 4 women.:lmao:

Our first three nights will be at Kidani Village 2BR Savana view and we will be on the Deluxe Dining Plan. We have ADRs for Sanaa, 50's, Brown Derby, Jiko, Boma(Brunch) & California Grill. We plan on going to DHS on Sunday and AK on Monday. Our last three night will be at the BLT 2BR in a MK view. Tuesday night after dinner at the CG we will be in the TOTW lounge having cocktails while watching Hallowishes. Wednesday we will be at Epcot for a F&WF Lunchapaloza and hopefully we will be on the patio at the Rose & Crown for dinner and Illuminations. We have a 7:30 ADR for R&C. Thursday we are resting around the resort all day long and then heading to 1900 Park Fair for dinner at 5 PM and then to the MK for MNSSHP.

We'll be at SSR from 10/20 to 10/29.
Lots of park time, doing the dining plan, lots of pool time.
What are we doing new? Trying the Wave restaurant and Tutto Italia(we've not been to either of them yet)

Just me and DH, celebrating sending our oldest off for his second master's degree, and our youngest in nursing school!
We've always gone in October as it was kid's fall break when they were young. Now we do Food and Wine festival by ourselves.

They study, we play!

We are going for 8 days, including 5 nights at BWV 1BR Boardwalk View.:thumbsup2

Possibly doing MHSSHP, definitely doing the Food and Wine Fest!!
:cloud9:
Going to eat at Ohana, for the first time in several trips. Yay!
Trying out Biergarten, and TRex for the first time, and maybe Tutto.
popcorn::
I WILL get my nerve up to ride ToT. I always avoid it, for the fear it will make me hurl.

We will be going 10/11--10/16, haven't been in over a year :scared1:. Can any October regular tell me what to expect with the weather?

We are doing nothing special except RELAX and enjoy each other. Some friends will be down there at the same time, so may hook up for a drink every once in awhile.
