Who's flown out of Pittsburgh in the last week?

If you've flown out of Pittsburgh, can you tell me where they've checked for weapons, etc.. Did they check you before you took the tram to the terminals only, or did they check as you were getting on the plane, too? I'm thinking someone can eat at TGI Friday's, steal a steak knife and take it on the plane with them. I'm very nervous about flying and need some reassurance please.

i have not flown out of pittsburgh recently but I know that they have taken all of the steak knives out of the restaurants (even the butter knives). Kitchen staff is allowed to have knives to prepare food but they must be kept in the kitchen. hope this helps

we flew out last week and got in late last night. you get checked at security before you take the tram to airside. if you do not have a tkt either paper or e-tkt then you will not go thru to airside. no plastic knives or metal ones anywhere in the restaurants. in fact if you get toast and need to spread jelly on it you must use your spoon or fingers! LOL they are now going to reinstate the passenger drop off but still no curbside check in. they really went overboard here as opposed to what I just experienced in MCO. in Pit it was really a pain to have to go from the end of the moving walkway by extended parking to the tkt cntrs. they had it blocked off so no one could drop you off unless you went thru long term parking. they are now changing it....for the better now I hope.
