written their letter to Santa.

DD did. She asked for a Game Boy Advance with one of three games (Frogger, Stuart Little or PacMan) and a magnetic perpetual calendar.

She opened the letter by telling Santa how much she loved her presents from last year and closed it with the following:

"Thank you again for my presents last year. If you run out of any of these ones, please call me at [our telephone number] and we can talk.

I LOVE YOU
XXXOOO
[her name]"

I asked her why she didn't ask for more so he wouldn't have to call. She said she didn't want to be greedy and, besides, she couldn't think of anything else she wanted so maybe by then she'll have thought of something else and wouldn't it be cool anyway to get a call from Santa Claus?

Since she's been so good I know Santa will bring her all three games ;)

What are your children asking for?

Last night DD told me she doesn't believe in Santa, or the Easter Bunny. I asked her why and she said she just doesn't. I asked her when she stopped believing, she said a couple years ago!

How cute is that!!!!

I have 3 gals 10, 8, and 6 and it's still pretty much dolls, dolls, dolls (Barbies, Bratz, Divas, etc)

And of course my oldest has asked for the *^%*&$$ fur real cat:rolleyes:

One year when my middle dd was 5, she was opening her presents from Santa and was kinda mad, saying I never asked for THIS! The nerve of Santa to buy more than her list :p

 jules!

But on the plus side, now you can go away for Christmas and not have to calm fears that Santa won't get confused and forget we aren't at home this year!

wvjules... is right! How old is she? My ten year old has not come right out and asked, but I think she's known since she was five. She usually asks me if I believe and of course, I tell her YES!

But then again, I believe in fairies, too :p

my Mom is 49 and still believes in Santa Claus, and so do I. :p

She's 7.

We were talking about a Christmas present and I said maybe Santa will get it for you. She said, "no, you're just going to put it under the tree unwrapped." (Santa's presents are assembled and put under the tree unwrapped, other presents are always wrapped.)

apm, that happened a couple of years ago. We spent the night at my parent's and she wanted to know what Santa brought her at home.

That is such a sweet story aprincessmom. I hope you plan to save that letter for her memory book.

Jules, I was 14 before my mother sat me down and insisted that I admit there was no Santa. I humored her, but he always shows up at our house and leaves neat stuff :)

My DD10 still believes wholeheartedly in Santa, toothfairy, easterbunny, etc....As a matter of fact, she cannot believe the stupidity of those folks who insist that these things are not true.

If I may share a brief toothfairy story that I am sooooo grateful to my neighbors for. Recently (about 1 1/2 months ago) DD10 was spending the night at the neighbors house with their DDs (9 & 7) and the 7 yr old lost a tooth. The tooth was placed on the dresser (as it was not yet bedtime) and happened to be next to one of those jaw hair clips. According to my DD they NEVER left the room, not even for a second all evening. Well, it's bedtime and the 7 yr old is looking for her tooth on the dresser to place it under her pillow. Low and behold...the tooth is gone and inside of the hair clip is clipped a $1 bill. So disbelievers, how could you possibly explain that happening if there is no tooth fairy....it must be true, I now have proof!

We are so grateful for her continued innocence and whole hearted belief in these things and will continue it as long as possible.

In reponse to the OP, my DS6 wants a GameCube and some games along with just about everything advertised on TV. My DD10 doesn't want any one "big" thing but is hoping for Polly Pockets, music CDs, Bratz Dolls, lip gloss, spy stuff, and arts and crafts type kits.

My kids have never written to Santa. I offered to do it for them before they could write and they didn't want me to. My dd didn't believe in Santa until she was in the 1st grade though.

My girls are 11&8 and have known about Santa for a couple of years. When my oldest asked me about it I explained that Santa was real because he was the spirit of giving etc. Now if you ask them they will tell you they believe. Of course I've let them know that if they don't believe Santa doesn't come.

The closer Christmas gets the more they believe :)

This sounds like my 8yo DD. She doesn't come out and say she doesn't believe but I don't think that she does. She'll write him a letter & she'll ask me if there is a Santa every once in a while. I can't bring myself to say "yes" to her, I always ask her what she thinks. We have read a book called "Santa are you for real?" Or something like that.

She wants one of those boxes from American Girls. (The horse stable) That thing is so expensive. I'm not sure what'll happen yet.

I was so very sad the final year that Natalie believed. I agree, Sonya, childhood innocence is to be treasured for the heart.

And, aprincessmom, what beautiful thoughts from a beautiful little girl. Thanks for sharing.

Not a letter but, a list. 2 at that, since the 1st is lost somewhere (Luckily Santa remembers most of it~Right, Santa?). ;) DD will go to see Santa at the Mall so, I guess she figures she's covered.

DS however, NEVER went to see Santa, he was terrified. He made lists and sent letters, that was safer for him. ;) Now that he's almost 15, he gives This 'Santa' his list. ;)

I 'learned' in 3rd grade and, I thought if I didn't believe that I wouldn't get anything so, I'VE NEVER STOPPED BELIEVING!! :teeth:
