Whos boycotting Universal because of the ticket price hike?

That is a really big jump, and I'm sooo glad I got my AAA tickets a while ago.

If the reason is because of Harry Potter, too bad they couldn't sell two types of tickets, one with HP and one without, because the new pricing structure penalizes everyone. I know that's impossible and sounds like the old days when Disney had the "E-rides", but wow, it IS a big jump all of a sudden.

Why would you even pay that? Why not go with an annual pass for just a few dollars more? It gives you great benefits, and its good for a year....so if you go now you can go a year from now and still get in without paying again.

I agree, it sure makes the prefered annual look good. :cool2:

I'm not "boycotting", but I was really shocked when I looked at ticket prices after reading this thread. I hadn't realized they had gone up so drastically. I know everybody says the other prices were "promotions"...but in all the times iv'e been to US/IOA, I've never paid more than 89.00 for a 7 day 2-park pass. Now "normal" price is almost double that! Here's hoping there are more promotions in the future!

Not us, we just renewed our preferred APs that expired in Oct 09. It cost me $109 for 15 months. Sounds like a deal for me since my pass is good until January 2011. We went today and with parking now at $14, it won't tqke too long just to get our money's worth.

Exactly why we keep renewing our AP's!!:thumbsup2

I'm not boycotting, per se, but we probably will not visit Universal on our spring break trip. We decided to do a non-Disney trip this time, and we're going to Discovery Cove, which gets us admission to Sea World as well. Last time we were at Universal, it was $99 for 7 days. Before I saw the price increase, I was going to buy the Universal pass and go there a couple days as well. Now I might add admissions to Aquatica and Busch Gardens to my Discovery Cove tickets and skip Universal. We're not boycotting, as I'm sure we'll visit Universal in the next year or two, after WWoHP is open; the price increase just steers us to other attractions for this next trip.

I sure am...at least till june......:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:...havent been in 2 yrs looking foward to the wwohp

As with most businesses, the general idea is to make money;); entertaining guests is their product. They need to strike while they have the 'it factor' with HP as there are stockholders to appease.

jmho, for every past guest that would boycott this year, they'll make it up 10X over with new blood.

it wouldn't surprise me to see deals offered thou if the gate doesn't realize as they've project to justify tix increase...U always offered tix deals in the past & has been quick to adjust to their market.popcorn::
