I have the day to myself and going to do some baking. I plan to bake enough to last for the next several weeks hopefully.

Banana bread
Pumpkin muffins
Apple bread
Cranberry cookies
Mini breakfast quiche

I'm also thinking some brownies today but I'm not sure I'll have time.

How about anyone else? Baking anything good?

It's that time of the year already. My husband was all excited to hear goodies were coming and his soldiers more than happy to know it was that time of the year.

So whatcha making?

Tina, do you have any recipes for your mini breakfast quiches? I'm on the lookout for ways to eat more eggs. They sound interesting. :)

Also, a reminder of a great thread we have that is a sticky on the DIS Cooking Board:

Cookies from cake mixes! Also: BISCOTTI and Cookie BARS
These cookies are so easy to make and the variations are endless.

That reminds me, I have some new recipes to add that I picked up, that are really great. I've been waiting for the weather to cool off enough to do some baking.

I am making a homemade chicken pot pie today and having my mom over for dinner. Tina, I forget if I ever went back onto the banana bread thread to say it, but your recipe was absolutely delicious. My husband couldn't get enough of it. Thank you for sharing it.

I am making pulled pork today but I am also making brownies. I always make brownies for my math team when they have an away meet.

I have a pot roast in the crockpot as I write :) and I'm trying a new recipe for Apple Pecan Cobbler that sounds delish. It's the perfect Autumn day here in CT for it.:thumbsup2

I did my baking the last couple of days. My DD7 had a bake sale for her dance team so we made fudge, cupcakes with acorns on top and banana bread in a jar with mini tutus around the top. I do have a couple bananas left so I might make some more of that!

Just put an apple cinnamon coffee cake in the oven a few minutes ago, the house is already starting to smell heavenly! :cloud9:

I baked my son's birthday cake today. I baked the other one's last week. And will bake 2 more in the next 2 weeks! lol...and my bday is Mon. Think I'll get a cake?:goodvibes

I put in a pork shoulder in the crockpot, and I am going to try making a pumpkin pie from a real pumpkin- not the can.

I made cranberry orange bread for breakfast. OMG, I have eaten just about all of it myself.

If you want the recipe, it's on the box.;)

I bought it from Big Lots, it's made by Betty Crocker.

my husband requested some of your oatmeal cranberry white chocolate chip cookies and I just finished putting the first batch in the oven..thanks again..that is our favorite cookie of all time!

also just baked a whole bunch of zucchini breads..brought some to 2 neighbors, froze 1, and made 2 for a meeting my husband is having this week..I love fall..it just makes you feel like baking (even though it is 72 and gorgeous here today!)

DS#3 made pulled pork last night, in the crock pot. He took it to his friend's house for the game today. I am making cedar plank salmon. I started soaking the cedar this morning. I am marinating the salmon in soy, ginger, green onion, garlic and rice wine.....and I am going to keep my fingers crossed that the cedar doesn't catch on fire before the fish is done. I better keep a spray bottle of water handy.

The kids and I made caramel apple cake this afternoon. I think it will be all gone by after dinner tomorrow:rolleyes1

I'm roasting a beef filet for dinner after braising it with montreal steak spice (yum!), along with some potatoes and fresh asparagus (I :lovestruc Spring!). In the meantime, I'm baking oatmeal chocolate chip cookies for Teacher's Day tomorrow :)

I'm going to make a pumpkin cruch cake (it's more of a scoopable dessert though) later on today to bring to work tomorrow.

I'm the only one in the family that eats it, so I'll make it and bring it into work so I don't eat the whole pan. :thumbsup2

I made a pumpkin roll. It was my first one and so good. I made it as a "comfort food" for DH who just came home from a 3 day trip visiting his mom who had a stroke. I think it helped to cheer him up a little. :lovestruc

Everything you all are making sounds so yummy!

I made flaky cinnamon rolls with help from the Pillsbury Doughboy today. :lmao: I made a wonderful apple crisp last night though.
