We will be there already for a birthday that week, and it sounds like a lot of fun, so we will be in attendance. Anyone else planning on attending? It mentions that there will be characters we haven't seen in a while there, any guesses who?

I want to go but to buy a membership and get it send to australia its about double the price!!!

I agree on the price, hope it is not too much. With the new Silver tiered membership only being $35 a year for D23 that part is much more affordable. It seemed like the D23 expo last year had tickets for $90 for 4 days, so I can't imagine the Disneyland 1 night party would be very expensive, but you never can tell.

To answer the earlier question about the purpose of D23, I think it is just a way to make more money, but also it does provide some access to activities one normally doesn't have access to (and again membership is only $35 a year, and usually that allows you to buy 4 tickets to events). The D23 expo was the biggest event and the Disneyland 3/10th and Disney World 3/5th parties are another example. They also have done tours of the Disney archives, Studio tours, etc...

I just wish they would post the "additional information" like pricing already... It is about 6 weeks away, and I'm surprised they haven't given pricing yet. Maybe they are still judging interest...

I am SO there.

The ticket information has just been added to the D23 website.

Tickets go on sale February 4 and are $65.

BTW the tickets for the WDW party are $140, but they get dinner and a 1-day pass

What is the purpose of D23? Not to hijack that is.

D23 is a club for those who love Disney and want to have special opportunities available to them.

If you belong, you can have the opportunity to buy exclusive D23 merchandise that is not available to non-members. You can attend exclusive events. Also, you can get discounts on things that are open to everyone, like the D23 convention.

$65 is more than I thought, but I think we will do it. Everything I've done D23 has exceeded my expectations (D23 expo was the best with sitting 15 feet from Richard Sherman while he played his songs, to being 30 feet from Johnny Depp all decked out in Captain Jack garb, to the multiple other stars attending and all the cool movies, etc...). I expect there to be some surprises at this event that will once again exceed my expectations which are pretty high already with them announcing there would be characters there we haven't seen in a while! (I expect we'll see the 7 dwarves, Jiminy Cricket, the 3 little pigs and the Big Bad Wolf, and many others that just aren't around much anymore, or are only in parades).

Any ideas on what surprises there could be? (My wife thinks that since Alice in Wonderland is opening in February they might have some tie in to that -- how awesome would it be to see Johnny Depp again, this time inside Disneyland, and I don't mean in Pirates of the Caribbean!). I don't see that happening, but I do think some type of Disney celebrity is within the realm of possibility.

I will probably go......even though $65 is on the expensive side. Late Valentine's gift for DBF. We went to the D23 Candlelight show in December and that was totally amazing.

I would love to go but don't think I will be able to, but I have been known for last minute trips to Disneyland lol!
Does anyone know if the new D23 mag is the one with the 70 on it, and did it get mailed out yet? thanks!

Well I got tickets BUT I screwed up so maybe we aren't going after all... :headache:
In my excitment to register I accidentally put our babies name (who doesn't need a ticket) instead of our six year old - who does. This could be a $260 mistake! I can't get another ticket on that account because we registered for the max number -- I can't get another account because I would then need to pay for another account AND 2 more tickets to get him a ticket. (The account holder and him as a guest) I talked to the people at Disney Store already and they are emailing the D23 folks - I said I would happily pay for another ticket BUT it is my mistake so I am not expecting anything. I feel like an idiot - we are flying 1200 miles to come in and I may have a sad little guy waiting at the gates with no ticket.......... :(

Don't despair. People have been able to change guest names for events in the past.

Just send an email to D23memberevents@experient-inc.com

Good luck! And see you at Disneyland!!!
