Ok, I get to go down to WDW this Fri.. .DSIL and DN have res. at SOG, don't want to go alone... So I must force myself to go along with them. Oh,well, the things we do for love... and a cheap trip!!!

So she has gone 2-3 times with a large family group that pooh-poohed any planning... I have winged most trips after poring over this site... and do pre planning set in custard in my head 'cause I forget the hard copy print outs of plans I have made at home.

We want to get DN's first hair cut at MK. I have her convinced that we MUST leave SOG for MK at least 1 hour before EE... maybe we will get out of the room 1/2 hour early.
They have never done the KidsCot at ECPOT, and didn't know about it, or the Candy Lady in Japan. Or any thing! Not even the Robots in Invenations...

So what else should we plan/cheap/free... do they still do Cookies in the Land? What at AK/MGM/MK ? I haven't had a 4yo at WDW for many, many years. This trip is mainly for DN as her dad, my DB, is in Iraq, and she doesn't understand why he isn't home. So SIL wants everything to be "special". I think just being there is special!

Also it is DSIL's b-day this month... I want to surprise her while there... besides the B-day pin at Town Hall/Cust ser window any ideas?

Know this is all last min. But she doesn't want to go alone... and who am I to pass up the chance to help out a family member....?

Thanks for any/all help!

Remeber that at SOG the buses have a set schedule if you are late you will be waiting for the next one. Check the time at the bus stop to make sure your watches are synchronized with it.

EPCOT: Yes they do the cookies in the land, the robots in innoventions and while your there check out all the other neat activities, you don't take anything home but they are fun to do. Don't forget to stop at the character connection, if either of you have a Disney visa stop in innoventions west for your free photo and private time with characters, make sure to see the world showcase players. KIDCOT stopps are marked there is one in every country(ask if you don't see it) and also in the land and test track.)

MK: Storytime with Belle can be fun for kids- there isn't really anything free but a trip over to Tom Saywers Island with time to run aroound is always fun. Also if your find a white paintbrush here you can get something specail from a cast member (give it to the boat operator). If you have time to do it pick up a quest or two at the VMK shop and try to complete it- you do get free stuff for completing it and it helps you find details in the park.

MGM: Again I don't know of many free things but be sure to catch the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast, I am not sure about the age for any other suggestions. The big thing here is to check on times for the shows you want to see and plan everything else around them.

Animal Kingdom: Again check show times for shows you want to see, she will probably enjoy the walking trails with a animal guide map, Cmap Minni/Mickey is the place to catch characters as well as the boat landing as you come in (Pooh and Friends).

At SOG: Have her find the pool with Mickey (I not sure if it isshaped like him) There are some little boats you can drive around (remote control) with pocket change.

Just back from SOG - I was very pleased with the transportation. They have a bus back and forth to the TTC every 15 min, and we never had problems with that. Took it at 8:30, hit TTC, grabbed the monorail and was ready to go in to MK by 8:45. Saw the characters singing, the train coming in and did the countdown, it was a great way to start the day! :cloud9:
Rides to AK and MGM were on time to, although pickup from MGM was a problem. I did notice that at the TTC they have busses to MGM and AK, and at those parks busses back to the TTC. Never tried that route, but it may work. But getting to MK with the SOG bus to the TTC is a breeze. We never needed to walk to the Poly since we always seemed to hit it right, and it was always waiting when we got off the monorail and walked back to the stop.
