WhooHoo!!!! My Son-in-Law is out of Iraq!!!

Just got the news that my son-in-law has arrived safely at Fort Dix after a year in Iraq. He will be doing paperwork/equipment processing for the rest of the week and then he heads home to Cincinnati.

In August, he and my daughter and my grandkids are joining us at Disney World (Staying at Caribbean Beach - would be nice if it was camping at the Fort, but we are flying down). My son-in-law has never been to Disney before!!!



UPDATE: 7/13/09: as I type this, he is on a plane headed for Dayton, Ohio, where my daughter and their kids will pick him up and take him home.

Hey now! I can't speak for Fort Dix since I'm not in the military, but I know for absolute sure that a lot of the civilians that live nearby are really great folks!!!!

I somehow knew you were gonna comment on this, Kelly. I should have put in a Colston smilie. I have many happy memories of Dix. I spent a year there one week. I think I am still carrying around a meatball I ate at one of the DFac's in 2006. I have a couple of deer ticks I picked up there I keep as pets.

About Ft Dix - NO COMMENT. I did basic and infantry training there in 1967 and deployed to Germany from there and did a couple of WFX there.
