We'll now be staying in a two bedroom for 6 nights at the end of September. We've never stayed at the Beach Club before, now I'll have to go do some research I guess ;)
Yippeee!!!

Thats great, HeatherPage!

It's a wonderful feeling when you get "that call," isn't it?!?

Thanks for posting your success story - it will give others encouragement!

Thanks Beth! And I was only put on it last week, that's pretty good turnaround time if you ask me!

congrats heatherpage!!!!!

Thanks JimmyTammy, I'll do it! By the way, if you're interested we're organizing a DIS/DVC meet for July 27 at Maggiannos at the streets at southpoint. There is another post about it titled Raleigh area meet or PM me and I'll fill you in on the details!

It's a wonderful feeling when your wait list comes through! Glad to read you got the time you wanted.

Heatherpage, congratulations and thanks for giving me a push. You reminded me how wonderful it is when a waitlist comes thru, so as soon as I read your post, I called and got put on the waitlist for BCV the weekend before Thanksgiving. I'm already on the waitlist for BWV, but decided when I got "round-tu-it", I'd also put my name on the waitlist for BCV. Your enthusiasm gave me the push I needed to get "round-tu-it". Now. let's pray one of them comes thru! If it does, I have you to thank.

Me too, me too!!! I put my name on the BCV wait list last Friday, and I got the call today. We switched from OKW to BCV, 2 bedroom, mid July. I was very surprised that this come through so soon, so far. CM told me that BCV was pretty much full during my stay. :)

Thanks JudithM and congrats Adamak! Simba'smom, I'll be thinking of you and sending pixie dust your way! Also I heard before, that as more people purchase at BCV, more inventory (ressies) will open up so I bet you'll get it! P.S. I was also on the waitlist for BWV but the BCV came up first. Either way would have been great. We were scheduled to stay at the WLV and I'm sure it would have been wonderful, but I was having a hard time trying to get in the mindset of staying there because of the theming when I knew it would about 90 degrees outside. Well that's why there are so many to choose from! :)

We decided yesterday at lunch to take our son to WDW for his birthday the end of July. We were thinking of staying at Coronado Springs or AKL, but we didn't like the rates. I looked at my husband and said, "how about BCV?" We have points at OKW, VWL and BCV. He said he would call MS right away. We got off the phone about 10 min later with reservations for the end of July, studio, 4 nights at BCV. Woo-hoo. I only hope we can keep this from our son.

Can someone explain to me why as more people purchase BCV, more ressie will be opened up?? I thought reservation has nothign to do with ownership?

So theoretically, if they build a new DVC resort, and nobody buys it, they are not allowed to 'rent' it out to other DVC-resort member?

Sorry, I just didn't get this.

I'll try to explain - others can correct me if I'm wrong....

Each resort has a total number of points available for a year. Before points are sold, all units (rooms) belong to Disney Vacation Development Corp. (DVD). These rooms can generally be rented out by CRO for cash by anyone.

When enough points are sold to equal a unit's point allotment for a year, that unit then moves to DVC inventory. It is no longer controlled by CRO but by DVC Member Services (MS). It is available for use by points or by DVC member cash reservations.

This explains why, as more points are sold at BCV, more of the units are available for Member Services to use for DVC member stays.

Hopefully, my explanation was clear enough to help instead of confuse......

Waitlisting worked for us also!

We had confirmed 11/15 through 11/23 in a BCV studio, but 11/14 was not availbale. We booked a BWV studio for the 14th, and waitlisted for a BCV studio on the 14th.

Less than 1 week later, we received confirmation by mail that our reservation for the 14th was moved from BWV to BCV. So our first DVC trip will be on 11/14 to BCV, not our home (OKW is our home, and maybe someday we will visit there!).

I think that as they sell more and more BCV units, they will open more units to DVC reservations. So I believe there is a VERY good chance of waitlists coming through for those who prefer to stay at BCV in the coming months.

My .02

Good Luck to those of you have waitlisted at BCV.

Congratulations! I have not had to try the waitlist as of yet, but it is good to hear that it does work.

You will love the BCV. Naturally, I have never stayed there yet, but have been to the the BC several times and love it there, can't beat the 5 minute walk to Epcot.

I can't wait, I'm getting antsy and its still 3 1/2 months out! (wow that soon-we still have to buy passes, save for meals, etc. yikes!). I asked for an Epcot view and was told (as expected) that those only account for a handful of rooms but hey I guess it doesn't hurt to ask. Does anyone know how the fireworks viewing is from the beach at the BC?

Thanks alot of explaining. It now make sense. My fav is BWV, but I have a feeling that BCV is going to replace my home resort. It's even closer to EPCOT, plus the benefit of hopping to Stormalong bay. I'm really looking forward to my BCV stay in a month.

I will let you all know how it goes. :)
