If all of this continues, I can see the Tag Fairy being taken away all together because something the do might not be political correct. This all seems to me to be overkill. If you get a tag and don't want it, just delete it.

Funny.... not long after that I got points for sarcasm and I always wondered if those two incidents were related.

I try not to make waves, but those of us who have been around for a few years remember the TF gracing Dan with tags he didn't appreciate. Big deal or not, he's made it quite clear he prefers to remain tagless and his wishes should be respected, especially when there are many other begging for tags. Dan is a valued member with many of us enjoying his threads and beautiful WDW photos.

I laughed at a harmless joke Dan made about "search" and a few days later I got a warning about the size of my signature picture (which had been in my signature, unchallenged, forever), with a link to that post responding to Dan. But in my case, I'm sure it was purely coincidental.

Could someone link to that post on the tech board?

Points for SARCASM?!? That's just... several words I can't say here.

I agree with what someone else said -- Dan is the last person on earth to get riled up over nothing, so there is a lot more to this than we obviously get. Dan is also one of the most respected people here, not to mention one of the nicest guys I've ever met, and it is a loss to the whole DIS community of the childishness of the mods themselves finally drive him away.

This is all so sad... and what's sadder is the reputation of the DIS at other Disney fan sites. This thread is a perfect example why.

Dan is not someone who would be easily riled, so whatever was done must have been way out of line. It's a bit disturbing that someone with access would step over the line.

I just find that in bad taste if he said it that one thing but to use it as a tag that a whole other beast

It seems to me that it might make the most sense to do away with tags, entirely, if it causes this much concern. I've seen folks actually get pretty darned upset about not getting tags -- are tags really worth all the bad feelings they cause?

But isn't that what tags are? Innocent comments within the course of conversation. So the tag wasn't malicious, he just didn't want it. Again, delete it, move on. Why invite so much drama over a silly tag.

Seems to me that Dan wouldn't engage in such pettiness eing who he is and all. Color me confused.

It's not really horrible if it's a quote from him, which is how most tags are given.
