Whoever came up with the phrase "terrible two's" obviously

OMGosh you guys are scaring me! DS turns two in one week :( and he has been most HORRIBLE this week! Tantrums everyday ... not normal tantrums ... 20 min tantrums always in public, just when I get brave enough to leave my home again ... yesterday, I think I was almost in tears when we left the post office where I am sure they will lock the door the next time my van pulls up in front of!

Today, we went to a farm ... my step-moms mom has a farm she invited us togo see her cows b/c ds has a new love of farm animals ... so, we get there and she has gone above and beyond for us ... cooking, etc we drive out to the pasture of approx 500 cows and ds says, "Hi Cow", Bye Bye Cow" "MOOOOOOOOOOOO" and is laughing so loud and deep belly laughs ... then WHAM, from out of nowhere a huge tantrum. They even stopped the truck and we got him out to walk around, cleared right up until time to get back in the truck to go back to her house! UGH- I was so embarrassed! She called my step-mom and told her Connor was a "pistol" ... I am sure she said more than she let on! :confused3

Can't imagine 3 being worse, so you guys have me seriously scared!

ok great and I thought this terrible 2 stage was almost over, DD will be 3 in January, now Im scared

:scared1:
You all have me scared. DS turns 3 in a week. I really have thought that the last half of the 2s were kind of bad, I was looking forward to the 3s. A couple of weeks ago he ran away at the sitters. Thank goodness it was just down the driveway and the sitter lives in the country way back from the road. But he would not stop when I asked him to. (I was there picking him up and he didn't want to leave) Plus he stuck a cashew in his nose last week, and did I mention he throws a fit every time he hears the word "no"?
DH laughs at me and my "adult beverages" on the hard nights.

After dealing with high school students all day (100 of them) I think the toddler is MUCH MUCH harder! At least the students can be reasoned with!

I was talking to someone and I mentioned my 3 year old was "very 3" she said..of course 3 is 2 with attitude....a wise wise woman she is.

I am hoping 4 is better.

I also think 3 is worse than 2. My theroy is they really know what they want, but dont have enough words and though order to convey it, so they freak out.

DS will be 3 in July. The attitude he shows already blows me away! Where do they get this stuff???

My DD will also be in July...and I'm right with ya. Her rambunctiousness(??) seems to be getting worse, when I thought it would get better the closer she got to 3. She's going on 20 and has 12yo and 16yo sisters who don't help much. The trouble is....I see where we'll be in about 10 years(but maybe that's a good thing??)

She is a wise woman.

Yes 4 is better. And looking back you do remember the good moments more than the bad. And those little arms giving you those crushing hugs will melt you everytime.

The best adivse I can give anyone is just keeping telling yourself you do love your kids...as your banging your head against the wall :teeth:

My 3 yo DD drives me totally crazy. She has tantrums now that she missed at two. It's mainly about her wanting things NOW and wanting to do everything her way. She is very cute though and we do love her but she is a lot of work.

:rotfl2: I like that!

When does the 3 year old attitude stop. My daughter will be 4 June 1st am I getting close to the end of the attitude? Ds was nothing like my dd. She trys so hard to be older then what she is and thinks she can do everything my ds (who will be 8 in 2 weeks) can do.
I love her to death, but at the end of the day I am happy to see her little head on that pillow!
