What started out as a short trip to BCV from 8/8 to 8/13,
extended into a longer trip that included Pop Century, the
Wyndham in DTD, and Caribbean Beach. SO trip was 8/8 to
8/17.

My kids were of course overjoyed to have to spend extra days
at Disney. Thank goodness we had APs.

BCV was great as usual. The only signs of wear were a chip
in the Dining Table. We were in a HA room which was not
a problem whatsoever. It was actually very educational
for the kids to see how Handicapped persons handle simple
tasks. So advice, don't necessarily ask to have your room
changed if you are assigned to a HA room.

I will slip in one comment about Caribbean Beach. It is an
absolute fabulous resort. We will definitely stay there again
for weekends/extended stays when out of points. The bus
service was phenomenal... much better than BCV. Got
AP rate of 84 dollars for Sun and Mon nite. Also got AP rate
at Pop Century of 69 for Fri nite. DH was not happy with the way
room reservations were handled. Everything else though
was handled exceptionally well by WDW Cast Members.

The other surprise treat of the week was La Nouba at Cirque.
Fabulous!

Questions?

If I have time, I will post a longer trip report.

Edited to add that we stopped by SSR.
LOVED this resort. Reminded us of the town
in the Truman Show with Jim Carey! Very
nice resort!!!

Wow! That's quite a report. Sounds like you stayed all over. Glad you made it home safe and sound.

Sounds like you made the most of your extended stay! Glad you made it through "Charley" safe and sound. Thank you for posting!

Thanks for the concern.

Hurricanes are a lot different than the tornadoes we get in
Oklahoma.

Interesting fact from DH, more died in the OKC tornado of 1999
than have so far from Charley. Although, many, many, more
with damaged/destroyed homes. How sad.....:(

What a great trip (Via Charley!!) ;)
CBR is wonderful, was there when the kids were younger. We just left BCV before Chuck hit Fla.
Glad you guys are home safe and sound ! ::yes::

Sounds like you had a great (albeit extended) trip! Question for you about the HA room- did you have problems with the shower flooding the rest of the bathroom? We had a HA studio at BWV, and we couldn't seem to keep the water inside the shower. Everytime we showered we had to put towels on the floor to mop up all the water! :umbrella: I was just wondering if it is the same at BCV. :)

Only a very minor amount. One towels worth.....or mats worth
which dried by the next day.

There might be a better design, but not sure how to make it
HA.

Thanks Karen! We had probably two towels worth, but DH says if there's any way of making a mess anywhere anytime, I'll be able to do it! :teeth:

Thanks for sharing. We typically add on nights at the Moderate resorts to stretch our DVC points, and for our next trip in March I was considering the Carribean Beach. We had lunch there last March and the whole common area -- shopping and food court -- was really nice. Was your room in good shape? Did the room feel big to you? Although we only will stay a night or two, extra space is welcome for a family of four... I love Riverside but DVC has spoiled me and the rooms feel small.

Did you use the pool? This is what impressed my kids most. They love to try new pools!

Colleen, we LOVED the pool.....

The rooms are definitely bigger than Pop Century/All Stars and
they feel pretty close to a DVC studio.

I just loved the feel of the resort and loved the bus service as
well as the fact that check in is separate from the food court.

The restaurant there Shutters also looked very cute.

Karen
