Who wins the resort battle in your family???

I usually choose, but I ask my bf which he likes. His choice this year was WL. I told him Poly was a good rate and he said the resort didnt appeal to him. He only wanted WL or GF. I told him no way GF - its too much money... but I decided to splurge and surprise him with it. But he thinks we're going to WL :)

I chose CBR but my son got upset because we weren't staying at the Buzz and Woody hotel. Well I showed him, now we are staying at POP

We rotate our resort choices between the four of us. Me, DW, DD17, and DD16.

We travel to WDW anywhere from 2-5 times annually so it is never too long to our choice! :goodvibes

My pocketbook and our family size always win the battle. We booked the swan for april, the pocketbook won, but now with the great ap rate, we are switching to the poly, a little more but o.k. with the pocketbook. Everyone is happy. I did talk of the contemporary as a backup plan, everyone kind of sighed. DH still has a dream of staying at the GF. That just might happen in dec. After going to disney every year, I know what everyone likes, akl will never be on our resort list again, etc. One trip I tried to make everyone happy, 3 resorts, that was a little too much, akl, polynesian and yacht club. Now I will do 2 if necessary and thats it.

I am the one paying...(with the dh's credit card!!) so I will choose!! It was between staying offsite at BV Suites, that has been over ruled and now we are staying onsite probably POR there are 5 of us, we have three small girls, or Beach Club in my dreams and 1000 bucks more in my pockets!!! Actually through my extensive research I have found SOOO MANY positives with the POR that I am strongly advocating our time there...the price is awesome and we can get a water view for the $$$...We are doing the dining package and all!! SO excited!!!
I know if I asked the girls they would want ASMU or ASMO and not even care about the price or accomodations...we won't get them out of the KM without tying them up anyway...

I go alone so I get to make all the decisions, however I hate to admit it but I do have a battle going on with myself on where to stay :rotfl: I think they call it resort anxiety disorder, just when I think my 3 disney resort choices are final for my 8 nights in December I start to consider a different resort someone else just loves!!!!!I am so easily swayed and my AAA TA just loves that!!!! I have so much time to change my mind I have never stayed onsite so it is so hard to decide. :)

i pick. everyone here knows when mommy is happy, everyone is happy! of course i do take their opinions into consideration, but i make the final decision!! DH likes it that way. less stress for him, more fun for me!! :goodvibes

All my husband asks is that it be a different resort each time (though I did get him to stay at CSR twice) since he wants to try all the moderates and deluxes. I always make the final decision... :goodvibes

I pick the resort, because I do the research. No one else in the family has a clue about the resorts. :confused3 My son is asking to stay at "that Africa hotel" again (AKL) for at least part of our next visit. We all did love AKL. I'm thinking of a split stay between AKL and YC next time. I've never done a split stay.

:earsboy: :wave2: :earsboy: :earsboy:

I am the planner and the Disney freak and I also know the budget so ultimately I decide-- but I make a good faith effort to get the support of the family when settling on the resort. DH is often unenthusuastic about planning so I try to give him some options, try to get him involved by getting some input. My dd (7) is a control freak and has inheirited my planning gene so she has big ideas about resorts, restauarants, and itineraries. Ultimately I make the decision but it behooves me to sell her on my choice. Last trip the Poly was actully more DH and DD's choice than mine... Dh's one request was the Poly and since I plan everything else I agreed.

For dd it is all about the pool slide. We're planning to do AKL next time and I have to convince her the pool is cool. Since we have stayed at BWV (Roller Coaster/clown slide) POFQ (Serpent Slide) and Poly (Volcano Slide) she is convinced the slide has to BE something. So she keeps asking what the AKL slide IS.

Anyway, ultimately I decided but it's alot smoother sailing if I let the rest of the family think it was their decision too.

We voted. I had the kids study the Disney Planning DVD and pick their top 3. Then they kept watching and voting until they agreed on the Contemporary. DH doesn't really care--he just signs the checks.

I do, because I'm paying for it. But, then we have a limited number of choices. When we go together, we always stay on site, always in a concierge resort, and though we have stayed twice at GF, usually it is at a different resort, each time we go. Since we are down to our final two concierge resorts--BW and WL--it'll probably be the WL, the next time we go.

We all fight over this every vacation! This trip we are at POP (DH choice) because I lost a bet. We sometimes play Disney Trivia and whoever wins picks the resort. only trouble w/ this is our 4yo DD usually wins!!!LOL!!! Really she does! Or we decide on a resort because of the great rate I find. When it comes down to it they really don't care as long as they're going!

We visit WDW 4-5 times annually and stay 6-10 days each. We rotate our choices between the four of us! Me, DW, DD18, and DD17.

This has worked out great for us!
