Who will be watching Emily Maynard the Bachelorette? No Spoilers PLEASE

but they said on ATFR that Jef called Arie to smooth it all over (because Emily couldn't bring herself to do it). so, did Jef lie to him at that point?
Hmmm ... maybe Jef told Arie after he left the journal and Arie already knew on Sunday.

I stayed up late last night to watch Jimmy Kimmel since he had Emily and Jef on the show. He did a really cute bit about Jef's missing "f" being the next bachelorette. He asked them about Arie and his relationship with Jef and how weird that was especially after Jef went to Charlotte to stalk Emily. They told Jimmy that Arie did not know that Emily had picked Jef. HE thought that she didn't pick either one of them. So ... poor Arie got a double whammy on Sunday night of not only seeing the woman he love dump him on national TV but to find out that he lost her to one of his best buddies who had been hiding it from him for the past 2 months.

I'm not a big Arie fan, but I feel extra sorry for him now.

But when Emily dumped him, she said specifically that she had more confidence in Jef. That seems pretty clear to me:confused3 How else could he have interpreted it? I think he went to Charlotte to convince Emily she made a mistake, knowing that Jef was the one she chose. His leaving the journal just solidifies it IMO. He wanted to be the final one and it didn't matter that she'd picked Jef in his eyes.

Arie did say that Jef smoothed things over and gave him closure because Emily was too upset to do it. So that tells me that he knew she'd picked Jef but was hoping for a second chance (aka Jason, Molly and Melissa switcheroo). Just my opinion though.

Here is the video segment from Jimmy Kimmel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZoZywt9WH0

You're right, I stand corrected!:) Both Emily and Jef said Arie didn't know they were engaged or even together. Then I watched the After Final Rose segment and Arie did say that he wasn't 100% certain she chose Jef either. So I guess it makes his stalker visit to Charlotte less creepy. Maybe I've been too hard on poor Arie. I did rewatch the clip where Emily dumps him and he does look heartbroken. I think I've been biased because I read some stuff about him a couple of weeks ago and wasn't impressed. But you're right, he didn't know they were engaged.:)

Correct. Two key things Emily mentioned to Arie during the breakup;

First - she never thought that she would have to make a choice between Arie and anybody...since she always thought it would be him and her. And second - she had more confidence in Jef.

I'm not sure if he was in a state of confusion and not listening...or just in denial. :confused3

Anyways, Jef and Emily seem to have Arie's back through this, which I think is really sweet...

I'm thinking it was confusion. Any woman who just tells a man that she always thought it was going to be him throughout the whole thing, then seemingly overnight does a 180 and doesn't even give him a last date to win her over, would confuse the heck out of anyone. I recall many people here posted that Emily seemed confused as to what she wanted.

And what does that mean, "I have more confidence in Jef?" :confused3 She didn't say she loved Jef more. As painful as that is to hear, that would be a clear statement. Confidence in what? Where? Can he convince her otherwise in this area she has more confidence about?

He was supposed to be given one last date and I think he went to her house to try to get that in some way. Not in a stalker way, but in wanting tp talk things through and prove to Emily that she can believe in him after all. "What do you mean you have more confidence in Jef? In his LOVE for you? Read my journal, you are the only thing I think of. I have written tons about our future together."

She doesn't state, like she did with Chris that everything fell into place with Jef & Rikki and she just knew everything felt so right that she didn't need to a trial meeting with Arie. He might have still shown up wanting to be given that chance.

:offtopic: I'm not watching Bachelor Pad, but I am switching to Love in the Wild on NBC (I've always wanted to use that smiley).

I thought she clarified that when she said that she thought she had more confidence in Jef in having a more lasting relationship. She said something to the effect that she and Arie might be good for a few years, but that she wasn't sure about forever. With Jef she was sure it was forever.

I do think she should have made herself clearer for Arie. She was giving off mixed signals by telling him that she always thought it would be her and him in the end.

What did you think of the ending of Love in the Wild?

Oh, now I'm curious. I started with past episodes online, so I didn't see it this week yet. I enjoy seeing what the couples do and where they go. I'll get back to you on that! :goodvibes

....more confidence that he can keep her in a lifestyle she's more accustomed to? :rolleyes1

The attitude of some of the ex Bachelor/ettes is really annoying. They think they are all so famous and everyone knows who they are. I only recognize a handful of them, and I have watched every season....

....who is that 'Sara' (?) person? I don't remember her AT ALL.

....Erica Rose needs to go soon. I couldn't believe when she referred to the fans as being like the "help". She is getting old and worn looking, yet still thinks she is a prize.:confused3

....she too does not own a mirror.....apparently.

....as bad as I felt for Arie, I felt more sorry for Mike Stagliano, when, during the final Bachelor Pad episode, he found out that his ex had gotten engaged to 'Dr Dentist'.....:worried::(:sad2:

I can just see the People Magazine article, after they come back from Africa, reporting that the couple has broken up because Emily says: "I thought we were going to Africa to watch other people dig wells. Jef made ME dig wells! Do you know there is no place to get a manicure in the African jungle??? I broke all my nails digging those wells."

Just kidding. I don't think she's that shallow.

Me either. Also that Jaclyn woman is a witch with a B. The entire cast is a bunch of wanna-bes that want to extend their 15 minutes of infamy. I never really had a problem with Mike Stagliano before, but honestly, does he not have a job? How does he get so much time off from work to do these shows? is he the one that was a break dancer for his occupation? It's so hard to keep them all straight.

Also, why is Mike allowed to come back when he WON the last season?? That seems odd to me. I can't believe how horribly they all treated the Superfans. Did they not realize that without fans there would be no Bachelor show?

The whole tiara wearing thing has worn pretty thin if you ask me. It was amusing seeing her nervous about seeing Kalen since she is the one who admittedly outed him to the tabloids.

Wow. I am really on a roll today... :rotfl2:
