Who will be watching Emily Maynard the Bachelorette? No Spoilers PLEASE

Does anyone remember if Emily spent the night in the fantasy suite with Brad? I don't know why I am wondering that, but I am. :confused3;)

She did not. She didn't think it was the right thing to do because of Ricki.

DH thinks that the next Bachelor should be Emily's brother Ernie. We got a kick out of him.

:rotfl2:That'd be hilarious! He probably looks like what Emily truly did before all of her enhancements. Looks like she learned it from her mom who's freakishly smooth face looked less wrinkled that a newborn baby's butt.;)

LOL, I was thinking the same thing! They could call it "Boot Camp Bachelor", where he grills the women & puts them through all these tough challenges.

What a happy ending. It was so cute seeing Emily, Jef & Ricki walking hand in hand at the end. I truly hope it works out for them, they really do look happy. And I'm glad that he is moving to Charlotte so that Ricki doesn't have to move, and her normal routine won't get disrupted. Hopefully they will fall into a more "normal" family routine, without all the cameras & stuff. Good luck to them.:)

For some reason, this season made me dislike Emily. I guess I'm confused why she needed to go on TV to find a man. She was dating plenty of guys in great positions before it. I still hate how she pimped out little Ricki.

Couldn't agree less.

I think Emily managed the Ricki thing expertly. She kept her shielded from the "men" until she knew who she wanted and then introduced him as her "friend". She watched their interactions carefully then did not introduce her to another "friend", Arie.

Jason had a son and ended up with a wife thru this show. Why shouldn't she?

I like the way she handled this. I'm a single mom, also, and it's SO easy to make judgements... which is something I do myself. I think she handled it well, and it's NOT an easy thing to do. She obviously LOVES that child and it shows.

This is my first time posting today. I have not had a chance to read through the posts from last night and this morning. I did want to say that I am thrilled with her pick! Jef was so great with her family, and he gave a very romantic proposal! I am also thrilled to hear that they are going to be in Charlotte. There was a funny local clip shown recently about a followup show. They showed Emily going into the Palm Restaurant, one of our favorites around here. Who knows.....I might see her and Jef out and about.
I will post local stories as they appear here.

Emily did stay the night with Brad in his season, and in a recent interview he mentioned what went on.

I guess I was just more annoyed that they had to constantly show Ricki throughout the entire show. The Hendricks are just really private people I guess.

I just watched last night's shows online. Of course, I had to come to the thread first (on purpose) and be spoiled! Yay for Jef! H e has been my favorite for a while now. I even misted up a bit at the ending.

Really? I could have sworn she declined. Hmm

2. I was thinking that I would see things heat up a little between them. But, unfortunately, I feel like I am seeing a lack of real passion and chemistry. It is like they still kiss with a full 24 inches between their bodies... And his hands are NEVER on her.

Of course, Arie was just DISGUSTING with his hands like violating her all over, all the time. But, Jef's hands are NEVER on her.

Jef said very clearly when he turned down the Fantasy Suite that their "public" relationship unwittingly involved their families, too. And what they do reflects on them. So I can see him being more reserved in public.

Donny Osmond (& his family) are my only reference to Mormonism, but Donny has said a few time that his adult career, after growing up & leaving the Osmond Brothers and his Donny & Marie bubble gum pop music phase could have really taken off. He was handed songs with lyrics that were just way too sexually suggestive to him.

He turned them all down and saw those songs become major hits for other singers, so he knows how it would have gone for him. But, he was unwilling to compromise his values, even to make it. he even had a problem with some of the suggestive dances on DWTS. (So did Marie.)

I think, in the end, no matter what reason Jef originally came on the show for, a rebellion from his family's religion as someone said he's no longer a Mormon (?) and to experience all the difference cities they travel to, you can take the man out of Mormonism, but in the end, you can't take the Mormon values out of the man. His values truly are a part of him and played majorly into how their relationship progressed, the questions he asked of Emily, and how he always included Rikki into their plans of the future.

Their relationship has always progressed slower physically. If this was a real, off-camera courtship, and all paws Arie and the other guys weren't in the picture, it would have been a "normal" progression for these two. You even made the comment how disgusting Arie was being all over Emily all the time, the way the show was edited.

Everyone is comparing because she has such more physical relationships with many of the other guys.

As I recall, she actually said that she would go with him to the Fantasy Suite, as long as he & the viewers understood it was only to spend more time with Brad and that all they were going to do is TALK. Basically, she was going to leave the way she kicked out Sean & Jef.

i honestly think Jef just is not into PDA. i come from a very conservative background and i wouldn't be into it with cameras rolling either. i also noticed that they will not be living together. he very clearly stated last night and on GMA this morning that he would get a house separate from them. i think that's partly his upbringing and also smart because of Ricki.

i think he's probably still cautious too. of course, i don't know him personally. i'm just speaking more from my background, what my parents would FLIP over still (yes, even though i'm an adult, my mom would be so disappointed if i were all over someone on national TV) and what i personally would want to keep private. so, i get it. i certainly hope there is more passion away from the cameras--i'm sure there is.

Yes, I said above, they progressed more slowly & cautiously, which is more natural for the two players involved.

I'm sure Emily would have liked it to progress a bit faster physically, but in the END, she did pick Jef. So she proved as much as she was more physically attracted to Arie, she went with her ultimate values than with her "pecker."

Yes, she had major forehead injections. It stuck out like a car bumper. I bet she could do some headbutting with that forehead. ;)

One of the BIG bones of contention was that Brad wanted Emily to pick everything up & move right away to live him TX with him. He was livid that she wouldn't just pick up Rikki and move there. He brought it up on ATFR. One of the gossip magazine interviewed one of Brad's siblings during their relationship, and they said the same thing. She wouldn't move in with him & Brad was mad.

Emily wanted to get her own apartment there in TX and live separately. That was the most she would do. She wanted to progress slower, and travel back & forth until their relationship was on firmer ground, so as not to uproot Rikki during all of their turmoil. She'd still have her stable life in Charlotte. But Brad wanted them both to move in with him. He felt that by her NOT doing that, that Emily was unwilling to move their relationship along, into instant marriage, as he even wanted to marry her on ATFR. Whereas, she saw it as they needed to move much, much slower and just weren't there yet.

I always knew that whoever ended up with Emily would be the one to have to move to be near her. It seems Jef is on the same page as her on this. :thumbsup2

Nope. I just reiterated (above) what Callie said. That's why Emily was so furious when she realized Brad & Chantal spent the night together too, but they didn't just TALK like the two of them did. :furious:

I was very pleasantly surprised by Emily this season; after watching her during the "Brad" season last year, I thought it would be very fake and shallow, but she showed some real maturity and ability to read men correctly:thumbsup2I was a Sean fan but must say Jeff is a great counter-balance for Emily. Did you notice he's taking her to Africa right away and what a great way to continue to grow a relationship away from the US media glare Good for Them::yes::as far as Jeff's lack of PDA, I do see a true connection between the two of them--again, good for them they don't want to do too much in front of the cameras;)I also noticed Emily not so "trashed up" at the live finale audience program. She had less make up on, conservative clothing, etc. Another Jeff influence I think. ::yes::

...after Ben, I can't take any more 'weird'....

That was probably one of the worst Bachelor seasons ever! I almost swore off the show when it ended.

I loved the ending too! They make a sweet little family. And I think both Jef and Emily have what it takes to stay commited to their relationship. With Brad, he was just out to prove that he was marriage material I think and to also repair the damage from dumping both women in his first season.

Couldn't agree less.

Well said.:thumbsup2 I liked Emily before the season began and now I like her even more. You could see the conflicting emotion on her face when Jef asked about meeting Ricki. He made a good point...how is he supposed to propose marriage and a life together with Emily when he doesn't even know Ricki and how she'll respond to him? Boy I like that Jef, even if he still insists on spelling it with one f.

I think Jef is a class act, all the way. Seeing him and Ricki together was so sweet. You can tell that he takes this all very seriously and isn't in it for just a quickie relationship with Emily.

If you see them around, post it on this thread, pretty please.:)

I too recall that she accepted on the condition that it would be a time for them to talk more. I took that to mean she wouldn't be spending the night with Brad. What interivew are you talking about? Do you have a link?

I thought they showed Ricki very minimally. Considering how large a part of Emily's life she is, I'm surprised they didn't show her more.:confused3

Actually Brad has said he only slept with Emily in the overnight date.... That he knew before then that Emily was the one
