2. I was thinking that I would see things heat up a little between them. But, unfortunately, I feel like I am seeing a lack of real passion and chemistry. It is like they still kiss with a full 24 inches between their bodies... And his hands are NEVER on her.
Of course, Arie was just DISGUSTING with his hands like violating her all over, all the time. But, Jef's hands are NEVER on her.
Jef said very clearly when he turned down the Fantasy Suite that their "public" relationship unwittingly involved their families, too. And what they do reflects on them. So I can see him being more reserved in public.
Donny Osmond (& his family) are my only reference to Mormonism, but Donny has said a few time that his
adult career, after growing up & leaving the Osmond Brothers and his Donny & Marie bubble gum pop music phase could have really taken off. He was handed songs with lyrics that were just way too sexually suggestive to him.
He turned them all down and saw those songs become major hits for other singers, so he knows how it would have gone for him. But, he was unwilling to compromise his values, even to make it. he even had a problem with some of the suggestive dances on DWTS. (So did Marie.)
I think, in the end, no matter what reason Jef originally came on the show for, a rebellion from his family's religion as someone said he's no longer a Mormon (?) and to experience all the difference cities they travel to, you can take the man out of Mormonism, but in the end, you can't take the Mormon values out of the man. His values truly are a part of him and played majorly into how their relationship progressed, the questions he asked of Emily, and how he always included Rikki into their plans of the future.
Their relationship has always progressed slower physically. If this was a real, off-camera courtship, and all paws Arie and the other guys weren't in the picture, it would have been a "normal" progression for these two. You even made the comment how disgusting Arie was being all over Emily all the time, the way the show was edited.
Everyone is comparing because she has such more physical relationships with many of the other guys.
Does anyone remember if Emily spent the night in the fantasy suite with Brad? I don't know why I am wondering that, but I am.

As I recall, she actually said that she would go with him to the Fantasy Suite, as long as he & the viewers understood it was only to spend more time with Brad and that all they were going to do is TALK. Basically, she was going to leave the way she kicked out Sean & Jef.
i honestly think Jef just is not into PDA. i come from a very conservative background and i wouldn't be into it with cameras rolling either. i also noticed that they will not be living together. he very clearly stated last night and on GMA this morning that he would get a house separate from them. i think that's partly his upbringing and also smart because of Ricki.
i think he's probably still cautious too. of course, i don't know him personally. i'm just speaking more from my background, what my parents would FLIP over still (yes, even though i'm an adult, my mom would be so disappointed if i were all over someone on national TV) and what i personally would want to keep private. so, i get it. i certainly hope there is more passion away from the cameras--i'm sure there is.
Yes, I said above, they progressed more slowly & cautiously, which is more natural for the two players involved.
I'm sure Emily would have liked it to progress a bit faster physically, but in the END, she did pick Jef. So she proved as much as she was more physically attracted to Arie, she went with her ultimate values than with her "pecker."
